Beth Cory is a double agent like me which means she is not 100% a working mom and not 100% a SAHM. She has created a way to keep her career going and balance her family priorities.

I met Beth at Jami Masters School of Dance 3 years ago as our daughters entered the world of dance as first timers in the same class. Beth is organized, energetic and always on top of everything.

I am so excited to induct Beth into the hall of fame known as Smarty Moms!

Having babies can change a lot about you. For me it was my body. I just didn’t seem to bounce back as quickly after my second daughter was born. I actually don’t think I ever really recovered after the first one. Body parts shifted, things sagged. My mirror was playing tricks on me. I went to the Harris YMCA all the time but never really saw a difference. I would watch other in shape moms in the fitness area and wonder what they were doing differently.

One day, I saw Ashley there working out with Paul Sklar, the owner/head trainer for Prescriptive Fitness. She looked amazing, strong, athletic and fit. Little did I know then that she had spent that year studying to get her Personal Training certification. When I saw that she was now a full-fledged trainer, I apprehensively approached her and asked if she could train me. That was three years ago and I can say I have seen such a transformation in my body thanks to a lot of hard work. Not only does she push me physically but mentally as well. I should pay her extra for the therapy. You can find her at the Harris Y transforming people daily, and if you are lucky enough to see her workout, you will be in awe.

This Smarty Momination came in from our most fabulous Smarty Photographer, Brooke Brown! I ditto everything Brooke says below about Sarah. She is a hoot, the kind of person you want to be besties with the very first time you meet her!

Sarah Rowe is one of those fun people you just want to be around. You want her bright smile and awesome laugh next to you at the ball field, the playground, and the pool. Our sons are great friends and Noah lights up when he sees Sarah as much as I do. Everybody.loves.Sarah!

Last month on The Huffington Post, funny-as-all-get-out mother and blogger, Melissa Sher, advised on “The 23 Things I Think New Parents Should Know”.

This gal has my sense of humor and I heart her for it. Never met her, and likely never will, however I admire her funny-ness from afar.

My only regret of motherhood (so far) is not having the wisdom and quick wit to say #7 and #9 to anyone who asked me those idiotic questions. Happy guffawing, Smarties!

I’m excited to introduce everyone to Stephanie Glickman. She is one of the first mommies I met out and about during my maternity leave that helped initiate me into the NuMama Sorority.
