Timothy Boyce, the editor of the concentration camp diary From Day to Day, will be at the Charlotte Museum of History on September 15 to discuss the story of Odd Nansen. Odd Nansen was a Norwegian architect and humanitarian. He was arrested in 1942 and spent the remainder of the war in various concentration camps. In these camps, he kept a secret diary, which he later smuggled out with him. The diary describes the daily life of a prisoner, including the casual brutality and random terror that he and the other prisoners suffered.
A reception will follow Boyce’s presentation.
