Okay, so I tried it! I tried Latisse! For those of you not in the know, Latisse is a solution prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (a fancy name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes). With several weeks of proper applications of Latisse, your eyelashes grow! Not just grow, but get longer, thicker and darker. Apparently I have “hypotrichosis” because my lashes have always been dinky and flat, see my previous blog, “Are you Looking at Me?”. So, I tried it!
The results? FABULOUS! Six weeks and I was batting my eyes all over town. There is nothing, and I mean, NOTHING in this world that can make you look more relaxed and rested than a thick set of lashes. Mascara can only take you so far! Imagine waking up looking like you have already curled your lashes for the day (like anyone has time for that)? Imagine looking younger and more “bright eyed” on only three hours of sleep!?
My experience was simple and yet, effective. It started with a visit to Providence Eye & Laser Specialist for proper usage instructions and a quick eye check. After only thirty minutes, I was on my way! The staff was friendly, helpful, and even ogled over my twins in the waiting room (thanks)!
That night, I swiped Latisse on my lids and woke up running to the mirror just anticipating juicy lashes. Well, it didn’t happen overnight. Duh, nothing great does! It took a bit of time, but before I knew it, I was seeing darkened and plumper lashes. Finally, the word “plump” used in a positive manner! My lashes had finally grown! Once I was even asked if I “got some work done”! Seriously? All this fuss from lashes? Yes!
Latisse is a fast and effective way to change your looks without being too obvious about it, and without dropping a wad of cash. With summer here and mascara doing nothing but melting on your face, why not try something different to give yourself a little boost!? Oh, and don’t worry, your secret is safe with my . . . wink, wink!

I’d love to have more eyelashes so I immediately took note of your post. I’ve seen the Brooke Shields commercials, but have not researched the option of using Latisse until reading this. I’m extremely cautious when it comes to prescription drugs so I Googled “Latisse side effects”.
Just a heads up to the readers, Latisse comes with a pretty hefty lists of “risks” so you should do your research prior to using the product. A big negative for me (besides the risk of eye irritation, discoloration of the iris, eye lashes falling out and discoloration of the skin around the eye) is that your eyelashes return to their normal state almost immediately. Doing the research I came across another product called Idol Lash that has a 90 day guarantee and is just $49 (only available via the internet) versus the $120 or so that the Latisse costs. It contains no harsh chemicals and over 80% of users report a significance increase in the thickness of their eyelashes. I’m going to do a little more research on the Idol Lash, but it also sounds promising.
I feel I should put a disclaimer on my comment. I’m just a health conscious, stay-at-home mom fighting the signs of aging but only with products that don’t pose other health risks. Can’t see solving one concern only to create another. 🙂
Have you picked up Idol yet??
