*****THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. OUR WINNER IS MELISSA COLE*****
Smarties, we introduced you to the amazing Caroline Calouche of Caroline Calouche & Co.(CC&Co.) this past weekend. Caroline and her team at CC&Co. are working around the clock to get their spring production ready: Star Gazer: A Trek Into Outer Space. This spectacular show is next weekend, April 21-23 at Booth Playhouse. In typical Smarty style, we have a giveaway for you so that you and your family can enjoy an evening of fun – perfect to wrap up your #SpringBreak2017!
Star Gazer: A Trek Into Outer Space combines dance and circus arts with powerful visual projections of planets, comets and asteroids to fly you through our solar system. Stella is a young and curious girl who gazes out her bedroom window one night at the stars and the moon wondering what it would be like to visit the other planets. This simple notion leads to a spectacular, often thrilling, performance by the southeast’s premier dance and circus arts company, Caroline Calouche & Co., April 21 – 23 at the Booth Playhouse.
The multi-media Star Gazer will have audiences spellbound as Stella (Zoe Flowers, one of Charlotte’s brightest young talents) explores the mountains of Mars and dancers soar on roller skates around the rings of Saturn. Jennifer and Patrick O’Kelly of O’Kelly Design Studios, working in collaboration with Carolina Calouche, have created breathtaking still and video images that will accompany the performances to transport audiences through the solar system. Musical selections during the program will include selections from Gusav Holst’s ‘The Planets’ and other classical and contemporary composers to accompany the breath-taking and dramatic scenes.
Star Gazer is supported, in part, by the Arts & Science Council – Charlotte/Mecklenburg, Inc. and the North Carolina Arts Council as well as media sponsor WFAE.
The Star Gazer Smarty Giveaway:
One lucky Smarty will win a family 4-pack to a show of choice, valued at $120! Follow these 3 steps to enter and we will pick a lucky Smarty winner on April 18th.

About Caroline Calouche & Co.:
Founded in 2005, Caroline Calouche & Co. (CC&Co.) has evolved from years of independent choreography and performance in the U.S. and Europe to become the southeast’s largest dance and circus arts performing organization. CC&Co. annually produces dozens of performances in Charlotte and throughout the region and conducts classes throughout the years for both children and adults.
Since 2005 when Caroline Calouche debuted Risk along with a small group of three dancers in her hometown of Gastonia, North Carolina, the company has performed in South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Texas. Over the years Caroline Calouche continued to expand her explorations of blending contemporary dance with aerial dance in harness and fabric. The aerial performances pushed CC&Co.s’ innovative, entertaining, sometimes edgy, work to a whole new level.
While CC&Co. continues to expand its season of performances, touring schedule, classes and summer camps, the organization continues to connect to its home base of Charlotte and its surrounding communities through outreach programs in all age, ethnic and social groups.
Caroline Calouche & Co. is a non-profit organization formed with the mission of creating, producing and promoting contemporary dance choreography in conjunction with multi-disciplinary artistic collaborations. The goal is to build cross-cultural dialogues with dance as a means to unite and educate the global community through an exchange of philosophies and methods.

I’ve never seen a show like this -sounds awesome. I am working this spring break, so my fav spring break moments so far have been getting pics of my kids on top of mountains-they are out camping and hiking with my hubby.
This show sounds amazing! We would love to round off our break with a family outing!
My favorite spring moment is spending time with my kids and just having fun and also no alarm clocks 😀 this show sounds amazing!!!
This sounds amazing! My kids don’t get to as many cultural events as they should. This sounds like one they would love!
We’ve never been to a show like this before and it looks to be an awesome event. The best part about Spring break is spending time with my daughter and no early wake ups!
Our favorite spring break moment was a day at Tweetsie Railroad! Hadn’t been since I was a kid.
My favorite memory is celebrating my Aunt’s 70th Birthday a restaurant that served my daughter her food on a plaque with a baseball glove and bat, along with ours in a fun way, but mostly the manikin head with beehive cotton candy hair!!
This show looks incredible!!
This show looks incredible!! So far my favorite #SpringBreak2017 moment has been seeing that Gatlinburg TN is still thriving after the devastating fire.
Watching my daughter’s excitement because she was finally tall enough to ride the Fury at Carowinds 😊
No alarm clocks is the best!!
Hanging with the cousins.
My favorite moment…the whole family walking & playing on the beach together!
We spent spring break at Disney and it was truly magical!
Out 5 year old has dreamed of living in the moon or mars ever since he could talk, he would love this!! My favorite spring break memory was when we drove to Miami with our kids. It was great swimming in the crystal clear water, being face to face with lots of wildlife and taking in various cultures all in one city. Plus our kids loved their hands on science center.
Grandparents day at school, bringing my grandson home and dinner out to celebrate my birthday, and our tradition of watching a movie together after everybody goes to bed!!
would be super cool to see. best memory of break was swimming in the ocean!
Sounds amazing! We biked the creeper trail this year over spring break…gorgeous!
We would love to see this show! My favorite #SpringBreak2017 moment was watching my middle schooler’s face inside the Air & Space museum in DC. Worth missing a monument or two.
