This year I have felt the need to clean up some, not all, of my Christmas decor a little earlier than usual. We will definitely leave some pieces out as we are still loving our time at home with our girls just soaking in as much family time as possible but there are some things that need to be packed up!
If you are feeling this way but are unsure of what to put back on your mantle for example, or if you are worried that it will all look bare, here a few tips to ensure a happy home after the Christmas decor goes away until next year.
1. Take this opportunity to assess what items that you have and decide if you need to put it all back. In other words, this could be a great time to de-clutter!
2. This could also be an opportunity to change things around. Maybe the bowl that you had on your cocktail table would actually look better on your entryway chest. Or the candle sticks from your mantle may look great on your dining room buffet. Sometimes just changing the location of pieces can give you a brand new look and feel without buying new pieces.
3. Room layout~ did you move your furniture to accommodate your Christmas tree? Maybe the new arrangement could be a nice new room layout! Often changing furniture placement, just like accessories, can give you a fresh new feel.
4. Lastly, maybe it is in fact time for a few new pieces to keep things looking current and stylish going into the new year. If so, send me a message so that I can help!
