Register now for the 7th annual Brookhaven 5k for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy race weekend October 24 and 25. This is an AWESOME family event to benefit an incredible cause and a very special 10-year-old boy, Jake Pritchard. To date, the event has raised more than $160,000 for Duchenne research – simply amazing.
Emily and Michael Pritchard, Jake’s parents, tell us that as Jake nears 10 1/2 years old, the progressive weakening of his muscles becomes more and more evident each day, creating challenges in basically every aspect of his life. However, as his challenges grow, his infectious smile and happy spirit have remained steadfast – making his parents prouder and prouder everyday. This race weekend is to honor Jake and the rest of the boys living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
If you haven’t registered and plan to participate in this year’s 5K, make sure to register at www.brookhavenfamilyrun.com before midnight TONIGHT to be guaranteed a t-shirt. You may still register on race day from 7:30-8:30 a.m.. However, shirts will be available only as supplies last.
