“Nothing else has the power to calm, comfort, and care for you better than home.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich
You may never have seen Hospitality House of Charlotte. Located just across the street from Carolinas Medical Center in Dilworth, it has an inviting front porch and a welcoming vibe. In the hustle and bustle of a day, however, you would probably drive past without noticing it.
But this unassuming house is a haven for families experiencing a medical crisis. In fact, they’ve been providing safe, affordable lodging for families with loved ones in Charlotte’s hospitals for almost 30 years. That’s 48,000 guests from 49 states (and 42 countries) who have found a warm bed, a hot meal, and comfort in this home away from home.
It takes a lot to serve that many guests, and Hospitality House thrives on the energy and enthusiasm of its volunteers. Interested in getting involved? They have plenty of opportunities for individuals and groups. Here are a few to get you started. Visit their profile on SHARE Charlotte to learn more.
