If you are expecting or even if you have a 2nd or 3rd baby, the one book you MUST get is Baby Bargains. This is the ultimate resource for baby gear reviews. The name is deceiving… it’s not always about a bargain, but more about value and safety and realistically what you need. It is sort of like consumer reports but much more fun to read, less about charts and more about tell you why a product is good or bad. It has sections for EVERYTHING, like strollers (double strollers if you are having a second baby), carriers, toys, bouncers, high chairs, maternity clothes, cribs, just everything. I guarantee it will save you much more than the price of the book because it will help you know when to spend a little more and when you can spend a little less. One of the best sections is baby furniture. It rates every manufacturer from A to F and you would not believe how many cribs get very bad grades. Take it shopping with you and read the reviews for the cribs you are considering. It has an extensive stroller section to and helps you identify the features you need in a stroller. And for those who can’t deal with reading each section to get the answers, there is handy list in the back that tells you your “best bet” registry list. I used this book when I was pregnant and I have given this book to both of my sister-in-laws as a “congrats on being pregnant” gift – they both used it extensively. Products change fast in the baby-world so they keep this book up to date, the most recent edition came out in April of this year (2007).

Have it, shared it, given it, loved it! Ditto to all you said.
Ditto to you both – this book rocks! And the $ it saves you more than covers the cost of the book.
