The topic next week, Monday, 10/24/11, is “tell us about the time you felt like a crappy parent!” (these are Matt’s words exactly:-) We would love for Y-O-U to be part of the discussion each and every week! Leave your comments below and I will read them off during the interview. Even better, call in on Monday!
So here’s my answer to that question.
This happens pretty much every other day in my house. On reprimanding an identical twin:
Me: Owen, I’ve asked you a thousand times, stop running through the house like a banshee, if you need to run GO OUTSIDE!
Owen: Umm, mommy, that’s Walker.
Walker: Smiling in silence enjoying his victory.
How can I expect my discipline efforts to work if I don’t even know who my child is? This null and voids the attempt. Score: Mom – a big fat ZERO, twins – one, and counting. And I feel like a total loser mom every single time.
OK, TAG, YOU’RE IT!!
So while in carpool on Monday, get off your facebook feed and join the Matt & Ramona facebook chat and call 704-338-2071.
Be there or be square!

This is the lowest of low…when I was so hungover that I made my husband late for a meeting and then called my mother to come watch my 2 children because I was “sick”. Sick is sick in my book. I was so sick I couldn’t lift my head off of the pillow…
When my daughter screamed through her entire Baptism only to find out when I undressed her that pins from the seamstress were left in and sticking her. Whoops.
When I put my 8 week old daughter down on the couch (she couldn’t roll over yet or so I thought) and walked away. I was heating a bottle in the kitchen for like 20 seconds and when I rounded the corner she was not where I left her, but face down on the carpet crying!! I had a heart attack on the spot. They say don’t leave infants on any surface unattended and now I know why! Thank goodness it was not the changing table or a bed. Lesson learned, but I felt like the worst parent and my husband was so mad at me for being a bone head.
