The great thing about actually walking into a toy store, talking to sales staff, picking up and handling toys is that you learn things you can’t do by scrolling and clicking – like what the newest and best toys are and why! That’s how we found out about “My First Barbie.” Our friends at Toy Mania at Cotswold introduced us to the new preschool-friendly Barbie created by Mattel this year for children ages 3 and older.
While Barbie has been around since 1959, with her long legs, tiny hands and feet and buxom chest, My First Barbie is taller (13.5 inches compared to 11.5) with a softer, more age-appropriate body. She’s easier to hold and manipulate for little hands still developing their fine motor skills.
My First Barbie has closed hands, so the thumb is attached, making it easier to dress and undress the doll. And she comes with clothes that fasten with Velcro.
So if you are looking for a show-stopper at an upcoming girls’ birthday party, or just a gift for a loved one that you know she will adore, stop by Toy Mania for My First Barbie. They carry the full array of dolls, which come in four different skin tones, and a host of accessories and clothes.
Toy Mania is located at Cotswold Village Shopping Center. Find everything on your child’s wish list without having to worry about shipping costs and delivery dates! And guess what? They will wrap every gift BEAUTIFULLY and oh-so-expertly!
