Charlotte Ballet provides a nurturing and structured environment that encourages individuality, creative expression and an appreciation for the art of dance. Expert instruction is offered to both students who are training for professional careers in dance, as well as to those who are interested in simply experiencing the joy and benefits of dance training. Storybook Dance Camp
Favorite storybook tales come to life through dance, music, crafts and performance. This weeklong program culminates in a parent observation day for families. This camp is for children ages 3 – 6, with two one-week sessions: June 12 -16 and July 31 – August 4, with classes happening Monday – Friday from 9 AM – 12 PM.
Summer Dance Classes
Explore dance through a variety of classes during this five-week summer session for students ages 3 – 14. Classes include Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Beginning Ballet, Children’s Ballet Plus and Youth Ballet. This five-week session takes place June 20 – July 22. No placement class is required for summer dance classes.
Junior Intensive
Jr. Intensive offers classes in Ballet, Pointe or Pointe Strength Training, Modern, Jazz, Boys’ Conditioning, Character, and Contemporary Repertoire with the Academy’s outstanding faculty members. Students will build strength and technique in preparation for more rigorous programs as dancers advance their training. There are two options for this program, the daytime course or the evening course. Daytime Jr. Intensive takes place June 12 – 23 from 9 AM – 3 PM; dancers who choose this option are required to attend the full two-week session. Evening Jr. Intensive takes place June 26 – July 14 from 5 – 7:30 PM; dancers who choose this option have greater flexibility and may select between one and three weeks of available programming. Placement classes are required for Jr. Intensives.
Charlotte Ballet will be hosting placement classes for Jr. Intensive at the Uptown Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance (701 N. Tryon Street). Dates and times include:
March 19: 1-2:30 p.m.
April 2: 1-2:30 p.m.
May 21: 1-2:30 p.m.
