This year, I started taking yoga at YogaSix in Ballantyne. After years of cardio conditioning, I was a bit hesitant to take a yoga class. But I walked through the doors, rolled out my mat. . . and opened my eyes and my heart to a whole new world of exercise. When I walk through the door, there is always a smiling face to greet me. An immediate sense of calm falls over me and I get a little excited to see how my body is going to respond to the movements. I have never felt intimidated or less than at YogaSix. Rather, I have found a whole new way of moving my body that is equally challenging and relaxing and is something that will be sustainable for years to come.
YogaSix is an all-inclusive studio for anyone and everyone with varying levels of experience and instructors who are there to encourage you through the experience. They offer six different types of classes: Y6 101, Y6 Restore, Y6 Slow Flow, Y6 Hot, Y6 Power, and Y6 Sculpt & Flow. Slow flow and Restore remain my all-time favorite.
