Academy Classes Start on August 30 – Don’t Miss Out!
Continuing with our Back-to-School promise to keep Smarty Charlotte informed and organized, we are calling all Smarty dancers today! Our friends at Charlotte Ballet want your aspiring ballerina/dancer to enroll in the Charlotte Ballet Academy for the 2021-22 school year!
CONFIDENCE, DRIVE, FOCUS AND SELF DISCIPLINE…these are the gifts dance gives your child, and at Charlotte Ballet Academy, it’s their passion! Sign up now for classes with the Academy. Registration is open for the school year, and will stay open through January.
Charlotte Ballet Academy, the only school of ballet in the state affiliated with a nationally renowned professional ballet Company, provides a nurturing and structured environment that encourages individuality, creative expression and an appreciation for the art of dance. The Academy provides expert instruction to students who are training for a professional career in dance, as well as those who are interested in simply experiencing the joy and benefits of dance training.
Alumni of Charlotte Ballet Academy’s Training Program are currently members of New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, Czech National Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Cincinnati Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, Texas Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet and Louisville Ballet. Additional alumni have gone on to study at numerous distinguished colleges around the country including Harvard University, Indiana University, Butler University and Duke University.
Charlotte Ballet Academy classes are offered at the state-of-the-art Center for Dance in uptown Charlotte and at the South Charlotte Campus at Charlotte Country Day School, so you’ll be sure to find a location that is convenient for your family. Safety protocols remain in place and will be updated over time as appropriate.
Enrollment is exclusively available for young dancers interested in Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Beginning Ballet, and Youth Ballet classes! More advanced dancers are invited to come take a placement class prior to registration. In addition, students age 12 and older have the opportunity to audition for Charlotte Ballet’s Nutcracker, where they perform on stage alongside the professional dancers of the Company – which is a Smarty favorite!
