Until the pandemic, I’d had no intention of starting my own business. Only after COVID-19 cost me my 15-year career in the cosmetic and skincare industry did I discover a new passion. Now I’m now the proud owner of The Rooted Nest, a floral and creative design business.
While being at home during the pandemic, I began designing floral arrangements as a creative outlet. Up until then, I had never worked with flowers before. Friends and family found out what I was doing, and orders started rolling in! Word spread quickly, and I discovered that God had a different plan for my life. My prayer for the previous eight years – since my son was born – had been that I would be able to spend more time at home with him. While discovering that I’m a creator at heart, that prayer was answered.
This past October, The Rooted Nest officially became an LLC. It’s a testimony to the indescribable amount of support I have received from the Charlotte community, where I live with my husband of 12 years. From orders, to encouragement, to spreading the word, each client who has walked by my side along the way has helped make this possible.
I am honored to offer local, fresh blooms for Charlotte area residential and business delivery, as well as special event and wedding florals. My offerings include flower subscriptions, pop ups, workshops, wreaths, dry arrangements, dough bowl candles, custom orders and outdoor planter installations. You can often find me set up at a pop-up shop or teaching a design class. While creating beautiful arrangements is a joy, I also love getting out in the community, meeting clients and connecting with people.
