Within an hour and a half, Charlotteans can be camping or glamping in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. The choice is yours at Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: RV, tent, or cozy cabin (with plenty of styles available: bungalow, lodges, cottages, and treetop tents).
Upon arrival, visitors can zip and zoom around in a golf cart to explore the site. What will your group decide to do first?
Steal a nap by the creek.
Lounge poolside in a cabana over cocktails.
Take in the view from a rocking chair.
Unwind in a private hot tub.
Drop a lure and dangle your legs off the dock.
Go for a hike at your own pace.
Join the kids on the jumping pads at the playground.
Take a dip in the pool or chill out at the “splashground.”
Paddle board, peddle boat, canoe, or kayak around the lake.
Gem mine or create a masterpiece in arts and crafts.
Play fetch with Fido in the bark park.
Enjoy a little tennis, pickleball, volleyball, or basketball.
All those difficult decisions will work up an appetite, so it is helpful to have plenty of dining options. Fire up the charcoal grill or one of the well-equipped cabin’s gas stoves. Perhaps, let someone else do the heavy lifting at mealtime. Go casual and enjoy a wood oven fired pizza at Creekside Café or take in the sunset and some upscale camp-inspired fare at Scouts’ Table. Be sure to get in a fierce round of laser tag or mini golf before you eat though.
Scouts’ Table is the location’s newest restaurant. With a locally-sourced menu and charming fireside ambience, the original N.C. Girl Scouts camp dining hall has transformed into a unique dining experience. In the morning, it also offers campers a coffee bar with tasty baked goods from nearby Pie Safe and Small Town Coffee Roasters–along with a full breakfast menu.
So pack up the car with marshmallows and fishing poles, and prepare to raise a glass of Cheerwine to one of the best N.C. spots you’ll visit this year!
