In our area we will typically see some emergence of adults on the first few warm days of the season. It is imperative that we get control of them before they have the ability to breed and start a new cycle.
We typically treat from daylight savings to daylight savings at the minimum. We do often start treatments in early March as the weather begins to turn in our area. Preparation for the season for us usually starts in late January and all through February. This is when we reach out to you, our customers, to bring you back for the season and make sure you’re taken care of. As a consumer you want to make sure you start preparing finances at this time as well. Your most cost-effective option is to pay for the 12 treatment plan up front, rather than pay for each treatment as they come. It can save you upwards of 5-10% on the season. Also, during this time is when you want to start doing your part by emptying any standing water on the property that might have collected. Mosquitoes need just a teaspoon to complete their lifecycle. Properties that have moist lawns, may want to think about doing French drains to help the water out of the soil. Moist soil is a key component for all types of pest which include, Crane Flies, Midges, and if it is pooling Mosquitoes.
