Join our friends at Caroline Calouche & Co. for a spectacular virtual performance next Saturday!
“A Love Show” will be Caroline Calouche & Co.’s first performance presented virtually but with live performance dance and aerial acts. Training Program students from their school, Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center, will perform a few dances as well that they could not perform in May due to covid. Here is the Smarty Scoop!
Saturday, July 25, 3pm & 7pm
Online through Crowdcast
CC&Co. dancers and guest musical artists will perform live at the Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center’s Studio Theater while audiences view the performance virtually. Tickets are on a sliding scale from $15 – $100 and donations are appreciated during the show. ‘We are experimenting with ideas to make this show engaging for the audience with multiple camera angles and some light audience interaction with our lovely Madame of Ceremonies, Rachael Houdek, from our cabaret show, ‘Rouge’,’ says Director Caroline Calouche. ‘We are excited to have two musical guests joining us too. Cabaret artist Rachael Houdek and Americana duo Courtney Lynn & Quinn.’
Two other notable performers on the program are Susan Murphy and Andrea Burkholder. Susan Murphy is hailed in the circus community as a prolific storyteller and is a remarkable performer in her 70s. Susan and one of her long-term collaborators, Andrea Burkholder, created a show last year called ‘The Subject Tonight is Love’. They are performing an excerpt from the evening length work on CC&Co.’s show. And Caroline was so inspired by their work and thinking what our community locally and nationally needs right now is love. Love of other humans and movement.
