Smarties, we are on lockdown and teaching our kids has been HARD! We needed help! We needed help in a BIG WAY – and this is coming from a mom with three teaching licenses and a Master’s Degree in Education. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TEACHING! However, teaching my own kids has been really rough. I was running into a wall with remote learning. My little guys just did not want to listen to me. They would run and hide. We are not in the ideal situation. My husband is on conference calls all day; so, we have to pretty much remain quiet through out the day. Desperate for help, I decided to reached to my friend Lisa at the Ballantyne Reading Academy. The twins have worked with tutors at the Academy before and really loved it. I was excited to find out they are offering online tutoring. We signed up in a hot minute! IT HAS BEEN SUCH A LIFESAVER and the twins are enjoying it. I love watching them with their little clip boards and reading materials engaging with their class.
If you are running into a wall like me, check out the Ballantyne Reading Academy. See what they have to offer below:
BALLANTYNE READING ACADEMY.
This spring is not how any of us envisioned it – there are spring vacation trips cancelled, and spring holidays celebrated virtually instead of with our loved ones and friends. Along with all of the seniors in college or high school, there are 5th and 8th graders who are not getting to celebrate their milestone graduations with their classmates the way that they had imagined. Young children are looking to the role models in their life to provide reassurance and I know that can be difficult when we have our own anxieties about living through a pandemic.
WE ARE HERE TO HELP.
You are managing working from home, working on the front lines, or maybe not working at all due to circumstances beyond your control. You are finding ways to creatively host remote birthday parties and virtual playdates, coordinating grocery runs and replenishing supplies. And all the while, you’re homeschooling too. Some schools are doing a fantastic job providing schedules and materials, while others are still scrambling to convert to distance learning. So while you are firing on all cylinders, remember we are here for you. Whether it’s a simple check-in, daily interaction through our Virtual Learning Program, or live Storytime, let us be the consistency and stability your children need right now.
WAYS WE CAN HELP:
Google Classroom: Fun, creative, and challenging daily assignments that keep learning on track
Individual tutoring through Zoom: The same tutoring program you’ve come to expect from Ballantyne Reading – just through a computer screen!
Live Storytime: preschoolers and kindergarteners can interact with Miss Lisa and their friends with follow-up crafts and activities to do at home
Group Classes: Read the Write Way and EOG and Me! are continuing through May 15th
WHATEVER YOU NEED, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU.
Stay well, stay home, and stay confident that however your family is responding to the pandemic, you are doing what’s right for your family. We’re in this together. You’re our family too!
