New year, new you, right? If getting organized and reaching some serious goalzzz are on your list of To-Dos this year (decade!), you’re in the right place at the right time. I am a HUGE fan of Erin Condren and her amazing line of planning tools and stationery (I even interviewed Erin as a Smarty Mom a few years ago – read it here!). So, when the lovely ladies over at Erin Condren reached out to me to see if CSP would want to spread the word about how we use their one-of-a-kind Life Planner™ and accessories to stay organized, accountable, and on track, well, of course, I said yes (quite enthusiastically). EC was kind enough to send over a box of goodies for my tenth-grade daughter and me to try out and review. Thanks, EC!

Erin Condren’s Life Planner is a weekly planning system that combines organization with inspiration for a customized, beautiful way to plan out your days, weeks, and year. Coiled Life Planners include a secure, stylish, and interchangeable cover, stickers, and a beautiful storage box. With literally hundreds of ways to customize, the Life Planner is anything but a run-of-the-mill agenda. It’s life planning with style.
The Life Planner comes in three different layouts to fit any style:
– Vertical: 3 vertical boxes per day so you can section your schedule into flexible blocks of time.
– Horizontal: Ideal for those on an academic schedule or planning in full sentences.
– Hourly Weekly: For those with tight schedules, each day is built out in hourly increments so you can make the most of every hour!
All Life Planners come in a colorful or neutral color scheme and include thick, rich paper. There’s plenty of room for monthly, weekly, and daily planning and also space for notes and contact information. There’s a nifty folder in the back of the planner that is perfect for bills, invitations, and other paper essentials.
My Life Planner is vertical – I find that I like breaking my day into three-block chunks for To-Dos and scheduling. While I set appointments on an electronic calendar, I write everything down every day (usually the night before) so I know where I’ve got blocks of time and where I’m strapped for time. I also write down my daily and weekly To-Dos – I’m one of those who get a lot of satisfaction from crossing things out as they are done. 🙂 One thing I LOVE about the EC calendar is that weekends are given as much real estate as weekdays. As a mom of four very active kids, our weekends are as jammed-packed with sports, birthday parties, and other commitments, so I need plenty of space for Saturday and Sundays as well as the weekdays.
Here is the fresh monthly spread – oh! The possibilities of the month!
Every month also comes with a page dedicated to priorities, goals, and white space to THINK and scribble.
And here is an example of the last part of the holiday week. I start off my planning game strong with color-coding the kids, but if you looked in my planner say…January 15…you’d think a 12-year-old boy scribbled in it. My handwriting is less than desirable, and my pace is frantic. But, here it is still refreshed from a two-week holiday (and yes, that is my best handwriting – stop judging):
The coiled Life Planners also come with several pages of stickers in case you want to add a little pizzazz to your life of meetings, carpools, errands, and laundry. I mean, why not?
My 15-year-old daughter LOVES the Softbound Life Planner™ for her academic and social life. Filled with all the goodness of its coiled sister, the softbound Life Planner is a portable weekly planning system that looks just like the coiled planner but takes up a lot less room in a backpack or purse. Designed for smooth, seamless planning, it’s ideal for both left and right-handed planners and comes in 8″x10″ or A5 size. Vertical, Horizontal and Hourly Weekly layouts are available, and you can choose colorful or neutral interior color schemes. You can also personalize the Softbound Planners with a hand-pressed metallic personalization. While it doesn’t come with stickers, EC sells an entire line of accessories that can be stored in a handy dandy “Planny Pack” and fits on any of the planners. Love it.
Erin Condren’s home and life organization genius doesn’t stop at planners. The line is full of goodies like beautiful notepads, notebooks of all shapes, styles, types, and colors, personalized stationery, gift tags and stickers, teacher planning tools, desk organization and so much more. Check out her full line here – you can thank me later when you’re happily planning out your crazy this year. 🙂
