This is our BIG week here in Smartyland – our annual holiday toy gift guide. We divvy ’em up by ages and our Smarty bloggers get to work helping Santa figure out who gets what. Today Smarties Carroll, Jenni, and Cheryl list what the babes would like under the tree (besides just a bunch of wrapped presents to destroy! :-)).

Mother Bruce from the Mother Bruce Series
A read-aloud that your little smarty will LOVE! A modern twist on the classic story Where is my mother, Mother Bruce is a story about a bear named Bruce that likes to keep to himself and eat eggs. But when his hard-boiled goose eggs turn out to be real, live goslings, he starts to lose his appetite. And even worse, the goslings are convinced he’s their mother. Bruce tries to get the geese to go south, but he can’t seem to rid himself of his new companions. What’s a bear to do?

It also turns on the light, pops open the stall doors & hatches the chicks.
This is a fan favorite, my little cousin Penelope can’t get ENOUGH OF THIS TOY! She is completely enamored with Violet. Unleash the giggles when Violet recites Penelope’s name (that alone is priceless)! This sweet little doggy has it all – it can recite your little smarty’s name, play over 40 songs ( ABCs to soothing lullabies), and teach first words including feelings and emotions, colors and counting.

Why do we prefer this swing over others? It is super durable, convenient and easy to clean 1.) Easy-in hinged T-Bar (with baby in tow this needs to be easy!) 2.) Stay-put shoulder straps hold baby securely in place (little smarties can be wiggly) 3.) child can grow with this swing T-bar & straps can be moved out of the way 4.) can be used both in/outdoors.

Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo
We’ve known quite a few of our babies to fall asleep in these bad boys. A Jumperoo is ALWAYS a good idea.
Every little girl (and boy!) needs a baby doll to love. This one is a cutie.
Playskool Poppin’ Pals Pop-up Activity Toy
This pop-up toy, or some version of it, is great for babies and their fine motor skills. They’ll love the satisfaction of seeing something pop after they push a button or “switch” a lever and it’s easier than holding them up to a light switch! LOL. We’ve taken this on long car trips and marveled at how long our twin sons are entertained by it.
Playskool Explore ‘N Grow Busy Gears
This toy was recommended by a physical therapist for a friend of mine who’s baby was born three months’ premature – a miracle boy! Little hands can grasp, push, spin or stack the gears and they are rewarded with blinking lights, sounds and music. It comes with handle for toddlers on the move.
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Sis’ Remote
Who doesn’t love a remote?! Babies get their own version and this one doesn’t need a TV to provide the fun. Buttons and songs keep babies intrigued, and its lightweight make this a great toy to throw into the diaper bag for easy diaper changes or long waits at a restaurant.
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Crawl-Around Learning Center
This is one of those toys that’s been a fixture in our playroom for almost three years now, and we actually wish we’d gotten it sooner. One son loved it as a baby, as have the twin brothers who followed him. It’s great for babies learning to pull up and play peek-a-boo and fit shapes into holes and giggle at themselves in the mirror. This is the “learning center” that keeps on giving.
Disney Frozen Kristoff’s Sleigh by Little People
We all know Frozen is going to be BIG with this group since Frozen 2 hit theaters. Little People are always a good idea for this age group, and we love Sven!
Radio Flyer 3-In-1 EZ Folding Wagon with Canopy
A gift for kids and parents alike, the Radio Flyer wagon is a MUST for this age group (and beyond). And this one that folds and has a canopy? Well, it’s the mac-daddy.
