Y’all know how much we LOVE the Quarry at Carrigan Farms! We recently hosted our Smarty Sweet 16 Party at the Quarry and it was seriously the best.party.ever!
Located just outside Charlotte in Mooresville, The Quarry is fed by an underground spring and rimmed in rock that rises to 70 feet – it’s absolutely stunning. The water is emerald green and blue with gray granite cliffs and a white, sandy beach – it’s perfect for a family picnic and swimming on a hot Carolina day. What I love about the Quarry is it has no age barriers – kids ages 4 (I recommend this outing if all of your kids can swim) all the way through high school and college will enjoy the Quarry just as much as you do. Your entire fam will enjoy cliff jumping, rope swinging, swimming, lounging, volleyball, and more.
When our Smarty Isabel was turning 16 this summer, we knew we wanted to celebrate her big event Smarty style and do something unique and special. So we called in the big guns at the Quarry and decided to host a private swim party. This was the P-E-R-F-E-C-T venue for a Sweet 16 party – it’s the coolest place around for a bunch of teenagers looking to do some cliff jumping, floating, and vegging on a hot summer day. Best part? We had the Quarry all to ourselves, thanks to their private swim parties.
It was seriously one of the easiest parties I’ve ever hosted. All we had to do was show up with our cake and balloons. Everything else was done for us, and it was AH-MAZING! We had homemade burgers grilled to perfection and a spread with a delicious burger bar, chips and drinks for days. We brought our own spotify list and you could hear the tunes all throughout the quarry, even in the bathrooms! Our lifeguards made it super fun with good vibes and kept everything safe and flowing smoothly.
Our Smarty teen crew gave this party a huge thumbs up. All the moms did too – we’re already planning our graduation parties here in the future. The Quarry is the absolute perfect venue for a huge graduation bash. Get a few families to go in on it together and it will be the best party you’ll ever host. Your kids will remember that day forever. Pinkie swear.
About the Quarry Private Swim Parties:
Imagine yourself swimming in cool blue water, basking in the sun, serving one up on the sugar sand beach volleyball court.
It’s warm enough to swim comfortably from mid-May until mid-September and swim parties can be scheduled on Monday-Thursday evenings from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM, depending on availability. Swim parties are by advance reservation only, for groups of 25 or more.
Swim parties have the option of having a catered meal for all the guests consisting of: Big, juicy grilled hamburgers, grilled hot dogs, veggie burgers for any vegetarians, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, buns and condiments, as well as, potato chips and fresh, seasonal fruit. Sweet tea, water, and soft drinks are also included and are available for the duration of the event. Cost is $24 per person, for all persons in attendance, for a private swim party, with the meal listed above, plus the cost of lifeguards at $15 per hour, per lifeguard. A minimum of two lifeguards are required, but the number of lifeguards needed will depend on the number of swimmers. There is a 25 person minimum.
If you wish to reserve the Quarry for a swim party without catering or without any food or beverage, the cost is $15 per person, for all persons in attendance, plus the cost of lifeguards at $15 per hour, per lifeguard. We highly recommend using the Quarry to cater your event – their food is delish and the only thing you have to do is show up to your own party! That’s my kind of party!
