Is anyone ready for warmer weather? Summer may be a few months away but it’s time to start planning NOW, especially if summer camp is on the agenda. Working moms need to map out every single day of summer long before school gets out. For SAHM’s, camp serves as an enrichment program for kids to explore the things they like and give moms a break. Regardless of your working status, the camp opportunities in Charlotte and surrounding areas are plentiful, but you need to get your game on N-O-W. Charlotte area camps fill up fast! To help you with your planning, CSP has put together some of our tried and true Smarty camp faves.

Charlotte Country Day School Summer Programs offers a wide variety of enrichment, sports, and academic camps to meet the needs of students ages 3-18. Weekly camps run from June 5 to August 11, with prices and times varying by camp. Some of the enrichment offerings include art, drama, cooking, video game development, robotics, science, and more. Athletic offerings include lacrosse, tennis, basketball, soccer, running, football, golf, and field hockey. We’re excited to introduce the Summer Institute, which offers high school students a variety of unique, weeklong academic enrichment experiences in support of specific skill development and student curiosity. Looking for a great place to send your kids this summer? Check out Charlotte Latin Summer Programs! We offer half-day and full-day camps for children ages 3- to 18-years-old. Seven weekly sessions are available with options for 9 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A free-of-charge, supervised lunch hour for full day campers is provided. We also offer extended care service from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at $100 per week ($50 each).
Join us for another fun summer of CAMP VICTOR. Camp Victor is a traditional day camp run on the campus of Charlotte Latin. Our themed weeks for 2017 are: Curious Carolina Kids, Glow for it!, Moovin’ & Groovin’ Fitness, Party in the USA, Camp Victor’s Got Talent, Tie-Dye Disco, and Bugs & Botanicals. Each week, students will field journal in our on-campus woods; splash and play on inflatable water slides; experience science hands-on and engage in cooperative team-building games! Camp Victor tuition includes a full day of activities, a daily boxed lunch, and before- and after-camp care.
Interested in engineering and technology? We have one of the only MIT certified FabLabs (Fabrication Lab) in the country. Students come home at the end of the week with one-of-a-kind engineered masterpieces. Young Engineers of Today camps are designed and taught by STEM educators with more than 20 years of experience in engineering and programming. Charlotte Latin’s hands-on approach to technology education transforms campers into technology creators. We offer a variety of engineering programs involving dinosaurs, fashion design, underwater robots, to drones and Star Wars.
Camp Prep is a day camp program offered each summer for rising kindergarten through rising 7th-grade students.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s award-winning Summer Camps offer experiences for students ages 3 to 18 in a fun, interactive environment. Summer programs at Palisades Episcopal School are known for nurturing the minds, bodies and spirits of its campers. Camp Gryphon serves children ages 5-10 and runs Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Campers will keep the “summer slide” at bay through daily reading time, math games and educational field trips. Sports and Dance Day Camps
Caroline Calouche & Co., the southeast’s premier cirque and dance school, takes dance to a whole new level. Offering Summer camps for youth (ages 6-11) and teens (ages 12-18), that will have your child dancing their heart out on the floor and in the air. Charlotte Day Camp is an enriching camp environment that focuses on creating Growth, Learning, and Fun for every camper. Each week at camp offers three weekly themes for campers to choose from. All activities are designed not only to be fun, but also to allow campers to practice skills that predict for success in school and life. Campers will practice being leaders, working with others, and being great friends.
Charlotte Day Camp has operated in Charlotte since 2011. For 2017, the camp will be held primarily at International House at 1817 Central Ave in Plaza Midwood.

Jami Masters School of Dance, Ltd. (JMSD) is located in the Backlot of Park Road Shopping Center and offers a variety of summer dance camps available to children two years old to third grade. Our 2-8 year old campers will explore “Frozen”, “Princess Elena”, or “Sofia the First” while discovering: acrobatics, art, dance, drama, and song, in a week long adventure. Campers in 1st-3rd grade will spend a week discovering: acrobatics, ballet, cheer, hip hop, and jazz. All campers will receive a JMSD Summer Camp T-Shirt. Camps catering to three years to third grade have a special performance on Friday! Let Me Run Summer Camp is an extension of the program for rising 4th-8th grade boys.
Campers bond while running, exploring the Sugar Creek Greenway, experiencing life lessons, completing a service project, and participating in an “Amazing Race.”
Guest presenters — including a drama instructor, CMC doctor, and personal fitness trainer — will inspire the boys to be courageous enough to be themselves, build healthy relationships, and live active lifestyles.

This year we are offering ten weeks of camp for ages 5 and up for all skill levels, from beginners to college players. Our staff has more than 50 years of experience teaching tennis to all levels from 4 year-old beginners to Grand Slam Champions, including Andy Roddick, Greg Rusedski and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario. Languages spoken include Spanish, German, English and some French. We teach individuals, not systems, and we make playing tennis fun, while learning to enjoy competing at the highest level appropriate for each player.
Technique, movement, footwork, tactics, strategy, shot selection, the mental preparation and focus and refocusing, etc are all taught in relation to the player’s skill level. We work with all levels from beginners to Professionals who have won Grand Slam events.
Weekly pricing for attending morning or afternoon session only is $145 members, $160 nonmembers. Sessions start June 12.
Good sportsmanship and enjoying competition is encouraged at all times.
