MIXED MEDIA CAMPS
small hands big art offers enriching and fun half day summer camp programs that will educate, inspire and entertain your creative young artists! And best of all – our summer camps don’t require four applications of sunscreen! During the mixed media art camps, children age 4 – 14 explore painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, collage, assemblages, printmaking & more! Students are segregated into different age groups to work on age-appropriate projects, or may work on the same open-ended project with modifications for their age. We also have several sessions carved out exclusively for Teens ages 12-15 (see schedule below). Weekly summer art camps are the perfect opportunity to dive into lengthier projects like papier mache, batik painting, assemblage sculpture or clay. For die-hard campers who return year after year (or week after week), they catalog all projects each student has completed & make every effort to avoid repeating projects! THREE CAMP LOCATIONS:
1. Main Ballantyne Studio: Fountains Shopping Center, 8025 Ardrey Kell Rd. Weekly June 13 – August 26, Monday – Friday, $225/week per child per session, 9am-12pm or 1-4pm. Camp the week of July 4 runs Tues. – Friday, July 5-8, pro-rated $180. All weeks are Mixed Ages 4-14, except sessions for only Teens Ages 12-15: June 27-July 1, 1-4pm; July 18-22, 9am-12pm; and Aug. 8-12, am or pm sessions.
2. Dilworth // Mornings Only: Covenant Recreation Center, 1000 E. Morehead St. Weekly June 27 – August 26. No camp the week of August 8. Monday – Friday, $225/week per child per session, 9am-12pm. Mixed ages 4-14.
2. Myers Park // Afternoons Only: Myers Park Presbyterian Wellness Center 1073 Providence Rd. Weekly June 13 – August 26. Monday – Friday, $225/week per child per session, 1-4pm. Camp the week of July 4 runs Tues. – Friday, July 5-8, pro-rated $180.Mixed ages 4-14.

CERAMICS / POTTERY CAMPS
In Small Hands Big Art’s ceramics / pottery camps, taking place at the Weddington Activity Center students age 6-14 will learn all aspects of creating original works of art out of clay, including hand building & sculpting techniques using a variety of clay tools, glazing techniques, and an introduction to the pottery wheel. Students will finish several pieces of art by the end of this exciting week! Finished glazed pieces will be available for pick up the following week. Watch our Pottery Summer Camp our Video!
