Every January 1, we cannot wait to see what our Smarty friends at American Girl have up their sleeves. Each year, they unveil a new American Girl of the Year – one who will inspire little girls all over the world to be strong, brave, smart, kind and compassionate. This year, the girl of the year is focusing on travel and protecting animals. Smarties, meet Lea Clark™ – who dives into new adventures and explores what’s in her heart!
{If you have tween girls in your house, you’re going to want to hear this news…CSP is giving away ONE American Girl Lea doll, read on, Smarty friends!}
About Lea Clark™:
Lea, a talented photographer with a love for animals, discovers a wide world of possibilities when she embarks on a faraway adventure to Brazil. Available for only one year, Lea’s collection includes a beautiful 18-inch Lea™ doll featuring long wavy hair and warm hazel eyes, plus several tropical-inspired outfits, accessories, and toys that reflect her Brazilian travels—including Lea’s Rainforest House with over 30 pieces! To further expand Lea’s world for girls, an all-new, action-adventure film will debut on DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment in summer 2016.
The Lea Clark™ Book Collection:
Written by award-winning author Lisa Yee, the 2016 Girl of the Year books — Lea Dives In, Lea Leads the Way, and Lea and Camila—introduce girls to a curious ten-year-old girl with an adventurous spirit. On a family trip to Brazil to visit her older brother, Zac, who is studying rainforests, Lea is excited to capture everything she sees with her camera. Soon Lea makes some incredible discoveries, but she also faces unexpected challenges, including a fear of the ocean, tension with Zac, and finding a baby sloth that has been gravely injured. With the help of her family, her new Brazilian friend, Camila, and her late grandmother’s guiding inspiration, Lea finds the inner strength and confidence to live her new adventures to the fullest.
To show girls that, together, they can make a difference in helping protect animals and their habitats, American Girl has created Wild at Art, a year-long fund-raising campaign in support of World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Throughout the year, American Girl is encouraging girls to use their artistic abilities to host an art sale and donate the proceeds to WWF. To launch the campaign, American Girl has made a $50,000 donation to WWF and also invites customers to contribute at American Girl retail stores and americangirl.com. Parents can visit americangirl.com/wildatart to learn more and register for Wild at Art, plus get animal-themed craft ideas, and be entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win one of 17 Lea prize packages. In addition, from January 1 through December 31, 2016, for every purchase of one of the three plush animals in Lea’s collection—the margay, sea turtle, or sloth—American Girl will donate $1 (up to a maximum of $100,000) to WWF.
Download the Lea™ Born for Adventure App:
Girls can join Lea in Brazil for an adventure of a lifetime with this paid app, featuring beautiful graphics, exclusive content, and endless play. The app retails for $1.99 and is available for download on americangirl.com/girloftheyear. Our brownie troop is selling cookies to help purchase a American Girl Doll for a girl at the Children’s Hospital. It would be great if we could win the doll and use our cookie money for other good causes. My girls both love American Girl and I support AG because it wholesome and all american.

My daughter loves AG because of all of the different stories for each of the dolls. She checks out the books from her school library. She likes to imagine what it would be like to live in that doll’s time period. She likes the new doll of the year because she kind of looks like her and because she likes to help animals.
My daughters love American Girl Dolls because there is so many ways they can “experience” situations through their dolls.

My daughter has been fascinated with them since seeing them in the store and would love to own on of her own
My girls and I love American Girl. When I was 9 I received Kirsten for Christmas. 24 years later she is still in wonderful condition and loved by my 8 year old. I know that she will be able to be loved for years by my daughter and her daughters. I love that American Girl has books that teach girls how to be honest, caring, strong girls. Even my little 3 year year old can enjoy Her own baby. She loves her bitty baby and can’t wait to grow up to get a set of twins and then her own big girl doll. Thanks for the chance to enter this giveaway.

My girls loves everything Americsn Girl. They love the dolls, accessories & books.
My daughters and love American Girl because it has touched and inspired many different girls across the globe with each dolls story and personality. I am so pleasantly surprised that even now American Girl has continued to produce even more personalized items (hearing aid, diabetes kit, and more) despite gaining popularity (*cough cough* Barbie).
