I am excited to introduce you to this week’s Smarty Mom. Taylor Sease is an unbelievably talented dancer and teacher at Visions Dance Academy. My three-year-old daughter started dancing with her almost a year ago and it’s amazing to see the transformation that is taking place in my tiny dancer. Taylor has so much to share as a working Smarty Mom, so let’s get to know her a little better.

How did you get into teaching dance?
My mom was a dance instructor so I grew up dancing. Then my mom opened up her own studio, Visions Dance Academy, and I have been teaching since I was 15.
What have you seen as the biggest benefit of dance for both girls and boys?
Dance has many benefits such as learning how to follow instructions, discipline, ability to make friends, technique, balance etc. One of the biggest benefits I would say, is the ability to express yourself through movement.
You’re a working smarty mom – what was it like going back to work after having Gavin?
I went back to work after about 3 weeks, ha! I do what I love at work and I teach in the evenings, so it was a good to get out of the house for a couple hours.
What’s your biggest piece of advice for a first-time working mama?
I am blessed to be able to spend time with my son during the day and work at night. I can’t imagine working an 8-hour day with an infant at home!! I praise the full-time working mommy! You are Superwoman!!
What’s your ideal night out on the town?
When and if I get a night out, a good dinner and some live music. Or if its Sunday, Football All Day!!!
What’s your favorite spot in Charlotte?
Favorite spot to take Gavin is Tiger World
What’s your favorite thing to do with your family?
Just spending time all together. Whether it be outside on a nice day in the back yard or gathering at a family members house.

SUV all the way! Not a minivan mommy

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Running 2-3 satellite Visions Dance Academy locations☺
