Summary: Every Friday night, Charlotte’s favorite food trucks gather on the lot at the corner of Park and Camden in the Historic South End. These aren’t the roach coaches of yesteryear! The nationwide revolution of the food truck industry has hit Charlotte, and we’ve got an ever-growing community of trucks that cater to your every taste. From burgers to tacos to soul food to cupcakes to ice cream and everything in between…there’s something for everyone. Meeting every Friday night since February 2012, Food Truck Fridays have taken the city by storm. Periodically featuring entertainment as well, the crowds have swelled to over 1,000 each week. We’re family and dog-friendly, too! So bring a chair, bring a blanket, BYOB, bring the kids, take the dog…it’s a neighborhood night out in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Most of the trucks accept credit cards as well as cash. Accessible by public transportation…take the light rail to Bland Station. A good time and great food are guaranteed!

Supporters can release a raptor, adopt a bird, make a charitable donation, purchase a membership or sponsor a capital improvement project. CRC’s environmental education programs reach approximately 40,000 students each year. Our Raptor Trail hosts more than 35,000 visitors a year. Girls on the Run 5K

Summary: The Girls on the Run 5k is a celebratory event and is open to the public. We encourage anyone who wants to experience the impact of the the Girls on the Run program to participate in the 5k. We expect over 4,000 5k participants and over 7,500 total event attendees at the Girls on the Run 5k Series (North 5k & South 5k). All proceeds from the 5k benefits Girls on the Run of Charlotte serving Cabarrus, Lincoln & Mecklenburg Counties and help us to continue to positively impact the lives of thousands of girls in our community!

Summary: We have had both children and adults alike take their FIRST horseback ride at our Horse Lovers Day events. We make new friends each year, both equine enthusiasts and people who had never been around horses before in their lives. We eat great food, shop for some great items, learn new horsemanship techniques and help some equine rescue organizations. THESE are only some of the reasons we put on this super fun, family friendly event for all of you! Thank you so much for making it such a great success!! The entrance fee is $5 per child and includes all of the climbing, riding and jumping as well as an ice cream sundae for every child! Stay for lunch by pre-ordering a BBQ plate (extras will be available for those who didn’t order) and head inside for the MOPS/MOMSnext Silent Auction fundraiser! All money raised will go to support the MOPS, MOMSnext and MOPPETS programs at CtK.

Summary: The collaboration will culminate in a combined event that will begin at Mint Museum Uptown, move to the Bechtler Museum, and end at the Gantt Center. Visitors will observe original pieces by Kinetic Works dancers, and then visit each partner museum to hunt for the works of art that served as inspiration. Kinetic Works dancers will perform three short, original pieces inspired by a work of art at the Mint, the Bechtler, and the Gantt. Following the performance, dancers and visitors will engage in a brief discussion, and armed with helpful hints, will visit each museum to find the inspirational work.

Information on Summer 2015 will be available and Directors will be there to answer your questions! If you are already signed up for camp this is a great chance to find out what to bring, how to prepare your camper, and all of the other details you are wondering about. This is a free day of fun! Bring your friends and family and enjoy our beautiful Camp Harrison together! We will start the day off at 11am in the Chapel with a worship service and praise band, then head to the dining hall for lunch. Activities will be open from 1-4pm with tours departing every half hour. Be sure to check in at the Dining Hall for an opportunity to enter into drawings and get some free goodies.
