We told you recently about the 2015 American Girl of the Year, Grace Thomas ™. We know you’re thrilled because Grace is a super cool entrepreneur and let’s face it, she’s just precious – all of the American Girl Dolls are. We think Grace is a PERFECT addition AND we think you’re going to be really excited because Charlotte Smarty Pants is giving away one Grace Thomas ™ American Girl Doll to one lucky Smarty Reader!
Here’s what happened when my two sweet girls found out they were getting to have Grace Thomas come live at our house! They could not contain themselves! Yes there was shouting and jumping and so much smiling…
Here’s what they had to say about Grace Thomas and why they like her:
“I really like Grace’s outfit and her cute booties. I also like it that she has blue eyes like me. Her brown hair is so long and pretty. I think it is neat that she likes to bake. She has the cutest freckles.”
What would your little girl say about Grace?
The happiness on my girls’ faces was just too much when they saw her. I got excited just watching them open the box. Now, I know we all just came off Christmas and SWORE not to get anything new for a long time, but as you know these Girl of the Year Dolls don’t stick around too long. I’d go ahead and get yours today even if you save for that next birthday or Christmas.
If you happened to miss our first post about Grace earlier this month, here’s a bit more about her from the folks at American Girl:
In typical American Girl style, Grace Thomas™ has an inspirational message threaded throughout her life. She’s an avid baker with an entrepreneurial spirit and follows her dream of starting a baking business after a trip to Paris. Available for one year only, the Grace™ collection includes a beautiful 18-inch Grace doll featuring long dark brown hair, sparkling blue eyes plus several French-inspired outfits, accessories and toys that reflect her interests.
The 2015 Girl of the Year books – Grace, Grace Stirs It Up and Grace Makes it Great – introduce girls to an inventive, enthusiastic nine-year-old who is full of big ideas. To bring Graces story to life, a full-length movie will debut on DVD in Summer 2015. Perfect timing
To learn more about Grace and the Girl of the Year™ line, go to their web site, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and American Girl’s Instagram page. To request a free American Girl catalogue, call 1-800-845-0005.

My daughter loves AG. She loves to be able to dress them, do their hair, and have them join in with the family.
My girl loves American Girl because she knows that her little girl will one day play with her doll. These dolls are made to last!!!
My daughter, Hannah, not only loves the dolls themselves, she also gets really into the books & stories about each doll. This further encourages her love of reading (which makes me love AG too!).
She’s a creative child and the dolls promote creative play. Definitely a big win in the day of electronics!
My 10 year old daughter loves to play with American Girl dolls and is so creative with them! She has designed furniture for them, sewed clothes and bedding for them, and much more. I love how engaged she is with dolls and NOT electronics. I love how these dolls are keeping her a 10 year old when many girls her age are texting with friends and trying to get “likes” for selfies.

My daughter is on the younger side of the American Girl demographic, but she still LOVES them because her older cousins each have one. I read all of the books when I was growing up and look forward to reading them with her in the future.
We love AG dolls because of the hours of fun and creative play they offer. We really want Grace because our doll needs a friend!!
Shared on my wall, tagged, and subscribed. My daughter is very excited about this particular doll because her name, my name, my mother, and my grandmother all share the name Grace in part of our name! American Girl dolls allow children to explore fun and new hobbies!
I tried to tag, hope I was successful. Also tweeted,@taryn221
We love American Girl Dolls. They are timely and have a doll that appeals to everyone and even looks like everyone. Great quality, too. The new one Grace, looks like my Laurel. 🙂
I completed all three steps. We love American girl because it allows for great creative and imaginative play.
Completed. My daughter likes American Girl for several reasons. First of all she likes their hair, to brush and fix in different ways. She enjoys playing make believe with her dolls that are similar to American Girl dolls, as she does not own an American Girl doll yet. It is common to find her playing quietly making furniture and shops/Cafes out of cardboard boxes as well as clothes, accessories, and blankets out of scarves, old tights and such.
She receives the catalogue and has checked out American Girl books form the library. We enjoy looking and reading these together. She likes to recall the dates and time periods the dolls are from. Like how life was for Caroline in 1812. Or that Julie came out the same year her parents were born.
Originally I think she started liking American Girl two years ago because her best friend got one, but has since developed a sincere like for American Girl.
We love American Girl! My 10 year old says she loves it because they are fun to play with. She loves all the neat accessories and sports theme outfits. I could go on and on. I love AG because it keeps my girls playing like children and allows them to be so creative.
Completed. My 8 yr old loves all the historical dolls. Her favorite is felicity because she rides a horse and she plays with doll and horses for hours. And this is the first GOTY doll she likes because of bakery shop and accessories. She would be thrilled to get Grace to add to her collection and have fun with her imagination. 🙂
She loves American Girl dolls and loves dressing them up in different fashions. Shared and tagged American Girl.

My daughter loves American Girl.
I completed the steps.
Not FB:( But my little girl loves everything American Girl!!!
All tasks completed! Like all the other parents here, my daughter LOVES American Girl dolls. She will watch the movies Netflix again and again and again. The messages and stories are so inspirational to her. Grace is a very special match in that my princess loves to bake at the tender age of seven! She helps me when i make brownies and cakes and loves to watch baking shows on TV. My wife happens to speak French and so Ella is fascinated by the language and the culture. Her mom has promised to take her when she turns 16. So the similarities between doll life and real life are a great match and I hope that I can surprise my “American Doll” with Grace for her birthday this year.
shared and tagged! and forgot to mention WHY my girls love AG so much — They love the stories and “personalities” that are associated with them, and I like that my girls are learning history AND how to use their imagination.

Complete! My daughter is just starting to get into American Girl. She received her bitty twins for Christmas this year and will get her first American Girl doll for her Birthday this year. She loves looking at the catalog and marks almost everything in the book. Can’t wait to take her to the American Girl store for the first time sometime this year.
My daughter loves American Girl! She started with a Bitty Baby, Emily Elizabeth, that she carried so much that we had to send her to the American Girl Hospital for an arm repair. She then got the Bitty Twins, Layla and Ronald–and then we carried THREE babies everywhere we went. The bitty babies now stay at home and takes McKenna (2012 girl of the year) and Isabelle (2014 girl of the year) everywhere she goes. Instead of playing that she is the Mommy, she plays that she is the big sister. If we’re not providing her with little sisters, I guess she’ll just move on to plan B, and invent them herself. She has “met” Grace Thomas at the American Girl Store and has already said that she wants Grace for Christmas this year. Guess she plans on having three sisters at the end of the year!
I’m already a subscriber, and I posted/tagged. My daughter would be shocked and surprised to get Grace. She loves the Paris inspiration, clothing and sweets treats!
I am subscribed to your newsletter! And I shared the post and tagged American Girl. 🙂
My 8-year-old daughter really loves time with her dolls. She has three younger hustlin’ and bustlin’ brothers that she loves too! But she enjoys having time to pretend all things “girl” with her dolls. She even shares with her brothers and they enjoy the fathering of the dolls. 🙂 She would be so excited to know she won Grace Thomas!

Subscribed, shared and tagged! My 8 year old got hooked on American Girl through reading the historical books, which I then read and learnt a lot about the history of my adopted country! We love the characters and their storylines, and are very excited about Grace after taking the trip of a lifetime last summer to visit Paris.
Thank you for the opportunity to win an American Girl Doll! I’ve loved these dolls ever since they arrived on the scene. I couldn’t wait to purchase a doll for my daughter for her 7th birthday party in 1992. We lived in Kenya, East Africa at the time. Grandma Schmidt traveled to see us and brought Samantha on the airplane with her! What a great celebration. I worked hard and made all of Samantha’s clothes. Now my daughter is enjoying her real live baby girl of 4 months. Just today she posted a picture of Baby Lily and Bitty Baby…side by side in the crib! Both cute dolls! Thanks again! Hope I win. Can’t wait to read Grace Thomas’ story. God bless…..BTW….love your blog.
Forgot to say that I kept all the American Girl dolls at my house for years. My two older granddaughters love to play dols when they come to my house. But now that my daughter has her own daughter…..I sent them all to her house. So now my house is empty of American Girl Dolls. What will the granddaughters play with when they come to “Koko’s” house??? Oh my…..
My daughter loves AG because she can dress them like her and they have so many fun accessories! Shared on Facebook and completed all steps!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win!

My granddaughter loves American Girl dolls because she thinks are so cute. We haven’t been able to afford the real thing, but the 18″ dolls are her best friends.
