You heard that right, Smarty Charlotte! We have arrived, American Girl style! No longer will we have to schlep to Atlanta, Chicago, New York, etc. for the real American Girl experience. We have our very own in the Macy’s wing of SouthPark Mall. American Girl has an incredible line-up for the Grand Opening festivities this Saturday & Sunday, so read on and pinch me, is it for real?!
Our ‘lil Smarty Tween Team got a sneak preview of the new 12,000 square foot store and it is nothing short of F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! You can shop for your little one’s favorite American Girl doll and accessories, enjoy lunch, dinner and/or dessert in the delicious Bistro – dolls in tow of course. Our Charlotte store features a complete assortment of the historical and contemporary dolls, a huge selection of doll outfits, every accessory you can think of, Dress Like Your Doll clothing and we can’t forget the endless number of best-selling books. My girls’ favorite experience is the Doll Hair Salon – they picked the fishtail braid and these stylists can whip up anything from your basic pony to pierced ears. New to our fam is the Creativi-tees boutique, where girls can create your own stylish t-shirts for themselves and their dolls. Presh!
You get the idea – the AG store is finally here and it’s not just shopping, it’s an experience like no other!
American Girl SouthPark October 11th & 12th Grand Opening Smarty Tips
From our Smarty friends at American Girl:
To manage guests’ waiting times and observe fire-safety regulations, a ticket system will be used for the American Girl Charlotte – SouthPark Mall Grand-Opening Weekend.
We recommend parking by the food court, or in lower-level parking using the elevator closest to California Pizza Kitchen. Each person (including children) who wishes to enter the store will receive a ticket with an assigned group number.
Ticket distribution for Saturday admittance begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 11. (Store opens at 9 a.m.)
Saturday tickets are valid for Saturday only.
Ticket distribution for Sunday admittance begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 12. (Store opens at 11 a.m.; other stores open at 12:30 p.m.)
Sunday tickets are valid for Sunday only.
Lining up prior to 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, and 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, will not be permitted.
Overnight camping is not allowed on property.
When the store opens each day, groups will be announced in numerical order for admittance through the American Girl entrance adjacent to Macy’s.
You can shop or dine in SouthPark Mall until your group number is called. If you have a Bistro reservation, you can come directly to the ticket-distribution table, as check-in is allowed up to two hours prior to your Bistro reservation time. The ticket-distribution table will be located outside in the West Plaza.
Signs will be located throughout SouthPark Mall, providing updates on current group numbers being admitted.
