I think we can all agree that there are times in your life when you’re just in a style rut. Maybe you just had a baby. Maybe you look back over the last six months and realize you’ve barely made it out of black yoga pants. Maybe you have a hard time adjusting your wardrobe from busy workdays to even busier weekends. Maybe you’re spending a weekend in Miami for your friend’s 40th birthday and take one glance at your cardigans and Lululemon Wonder Unders and realize they’re just NOT gonna cut it in South Beach.
That’s me. The last sentence.
And then, like she came from the heavens above, I met Kathryn Moczulski, owner of the Empresses’ Old Clothes.
I loved her from the second I met her. And you will, too. Read on because one lucky Smarty will win one hour of free personal shopping with a mini style consultation!
She’s a personal shopper and stylist, but not the hoity toity personal shopper and stylist that instantly pops into your head. She’s a mom of two young children who, with her knack for dressing, styling, and shopping for her friends and family, decided to start her own business helping the ladies of Greater Charlotte feel their very best everyday. She can take the clothes you already have – those clothes sitting idly in your closet – and make something FANTASTIC with them. Actually, she can make lots of fantastic somethings with them – multiple outfits – complete with accessories. She can also meet you at your favorite store/stores and help you find certain pieces. And we’re not just talking the mall. She can even do consignment stores and consignment sales.
She and I met at the Green Jeans Consignment Sale in early May. I am not great at consignment sales – even the awesome ones like Green Jeans. But I was super excited to see what a professional could find for me. We chatted over email a little before meeting – she asked me for a list of my fave stores, my Pinterest boards with style ideas, and any other hints that might clue her into what I might love. I would call my style “Making Do,” but she called it “Bohemian Preppy.”
Instantly chicer right?
The night we met at the pre-sale, she had already pulled a few things she thought I would like, and within just a few minutes of meeting (we only had 60 precious minutes), she and I had pulled several key pieces for me to try. My focus wasn’t solely on the South Beach trip (honestly I didn’t think it was possible to find something for that trip!), but she found something. On the hanger it was nothing. But once I tried it on, va-voom. South Beach. She even found Steve Madden shoes that are completely non-carpool-worthy and jewelry to complete the look. Love.
I would NEVER have found about 90% of what she found – girl’s got some serious shopping skills. I racked up (and since it was consignment, spent just a fraction of what I would at the mall!!) and came away so happy that I had to stop at my bestie’s house on the way home from the sale because I just couldn’t believe those 60 minutes had really happened.
And get this, she’s not just a stellar shopper. Click here for a detailed description of each of her services, but in a nutshell they include:
– Wardrobe Styling Consultation
– Closet Purge
– Personal Shopping
– Luggage Services (I am totally using her for the Miami trip – no brainer)
– Seasonal Wardrobe Change
– In Transition Styling
I’m telling you, Kathryn is the real deal. She’s so fun to work with; her prices are so reasonable; she NEVER makes you feel anything but incredibly beautiful; and she focuses on you and you alone (a luxury moms tend to live without!) So, hang up any and all of your fashion and body insecurities, and let Kathryn take over. Trust me. You’re gonna love her.
