Shortly after I had my second daughter, I read this article on Huffington Post titled “The Mom Stays in the Picture”. The article really resonated with me and since then I have made a conscious effort to be in more pictures rather than hide behind the lens. So often clients (mostly moms) show up to sessions for their little ones and when I ask them if they want their pictures taken, I usually hear “when I lose the baby weight I’ll come back” or “I didn’t have time to get myself ready for pictures today”. As a mom, I understand these comments but I feel so passionately that moms should be in the pictures that I always sneak in a few photos. The best part is that the mom usually doesn’t know I’m even taking the picture and I’m able to capture a sweet candid moment.
I’m offering special Mother’s Day Mini sessions throughout May and June as a chance for moms to have special photographs with their children. More than anything, I want the subject of the picture to be their relationship.
Since my 2014 New Years resolutions were to be present in the picture and print more pictures, the sessions will include three 5×7 prints in addition to the digital files. I also understand that moms are super busy and while it is easy to collect DVDs of digital files, it’s important that we get photos printed too!
As proof that I’m keeping my first resolution, I’ve even included a picture of me and my youngest yesterday on Easter:
The sessions will be offered on select dates in May and June. They would make great gifts as well! Click here for information on the Mommy & Me Mini Session Smarty Steal!
