Just five weeks in to our session at Charlotte Swim Academy and my two year old is already going under water with goggles and, at times, by herself! I’ll admit, I was skeptical about how much swim lessons could really help my tiny toddler, but I am absolutely blown away! She is completely comfortable in the water and with her coach. I can’t believe how much these short, 20-minute sessions have helped her improve. My husband joined me for an early morning lesson this week and was really impressed with the quality of the facilities as well. One thing we both noted is that none of the children were crying. It seems everyone is comfortable at CSA!
I really love that CSA only offers private lessons. I think it speaks to how much emphasis they put on quality time with their students. I also can’t emphasize how crucial this one-on-one time is for our daughter. The attention to her is outstanding! At times there are two teachers working just with her.
At CSA they focus on floating first and then learn the motions to start kicking. I think this has really helped keep my daughter calm in the water. We talk about swimming with “Miss Pam” every day and yearn for our lessons on Thursday’s.
We’ve decided to continue our lessons throughout the summer. I am the first to agree that swim lessons can be a major investment for families. It is always a stretch with all of the usual costs that kids wrack up…and then you tack on extra curriculars! Sheesh! However, my husband and I have decided that we will spare no cost to have our daughter be water safe as soon as possible!
We love CSA! Our coach believes that after completing two ten-week sessions we should be “water-safe.” I know it is different for every child but in my mind two or three of these sessions is most definitely worth the cost. We will keep you up to date on our progress! For now, head over to Charlotte Swim Academy to sign up for your summer sessions! Spots are filling up fast. Just promise you won’t take mine (wink wink). And if you pop on in tell them Karly sent you!
