“Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure” – Proverb
Last fall our family adopted two little dogs, Lou and Lacey – a brother and sister combo from Cabarrus County. To say they’ve changed our lives is the understatement of the century. They really have become an extension of our family and this extra bit of love that now exists in our home.
Animals offer something that humans can’t – there is love, trust, and vulnerability all wrapped into one ALL the time. If you and your family feel a passion to connect with Charlotte through animals here are a few really cool places to do it.
Project HALO – There are volunteer opps for all ages at this rescue and sanctuary
Misty Meadows Mitey Riders – Support their mission to serve children with special needs through an equine assisted therapeutic riding program
Carolina Raptor Center – Help them take care of their many resident birds
Hands On Charlotte – Take your pet to visit elderly residents at a skilled nursing facility
Coalition to Unchain Dogs – Spend your weekend helping them build fences so dogs can come off their chains
Please join us on Facebook and Twitter and tell us about your love of animals!
