“Things don’t have to change the world to be important.” – Steve Jobs
Isn’t it great that so many of us want to “change the world”? Well, changing the world is a tall order and ends up, in my case at least, paralyzing me. It, a lot of times, causes inaction because we feel like that whatever we’re doing isn’t making enough of an impact. It’s not as important as we think.
Well, I’m here to tell you that anything you do for someone else is changing the world. It’s the little things, especially, that can make the biggest impact.
We talk a lot about volunteering but it really is more about just getting involved. If you can lend some time to answer phones, file papers, clean a bathroom, design a brochure you will be changing the world. If we all did just a little we would get a whole lot done.
And I think the little things are what our kids can more easily understand. It creates a connection from daily life and shows them a little goes a long way. It’s the perfect place to get started…and, to me, starting is the MOST important thing!
Now go change the world…
Special Olympics North Carolina – Needs lots of volunteers to help with their Mecklenburg County Spring Games like registration and check-in, parade line-up, timing, staging, etc.
Council for Children’s Rights – Desperate for a graphic designer to help them with their marketing materials.
Carolina Refugee Resettlement Agency – Needs filing done and their database updated.
Freedom School Partners – Looking for office support, someone to go supply shopping and assistance on field trips.
Make your move and let us know and we’ll send you a SHARE Charlotte bracelet!
