“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
― John F. Kennedy
You gotta start…somewhere!
We all get in our heads and think about all the great things we’d like to do with our family in the community.
“We need to DO something.”
“We’ve got to teach the kids about giving back. Life’s not ALL about them!”
“If I just knew what my passion is.”
We all have our own little voices in our heads. That voice sure talks a lot…and eventually makes us feel guilty and then we feel bad about ourselves because we STILL haven’t done anything.
Well, now’s the time…to start…to get off “go”.
In this season of gratitude, let’s not only feel it but also “live” it this time. Our challenge for all the Smarty Moms today is to pick a date on the calendar (NOT Thanksgiving!) that you’re going to “live” your gratitude. You pick “how” (if you need ideas SHARE Charlotte can help you) and…GO!
If you’re ready, here’s a taste of who would love to hear from you right now!
– Community School of the Arts needs Gingerbread House Workshop volunteers in December. (Ages 10 & up!)
– Heart Tutoring would love some folks interested in being a Weekly Tutor. (Ages 15 and up!)
– The Salvation Army has a lot of opportunities, from serving meals to their “Walmart Fill the Truck” program during December. (Great for groups, and kids ages 5 and up!)
If you’re overloaded right now (like most of us) pick a date in 2014 that you will live your gratitude, and include it in the comments below. One grateful Smarty Mom will win a custom SHARE Charlotte bracelet.
