Smarty Fly Dad Contestant #4 – Edward Donaldson
I am the wife to a man who I call my super Hero! Edward Samuel Donaldson is one of the most giving men you will ever meet. How do I put into words what a blessing he has been to my 3 children and to myself. As you can see in the photo he could use a night out you could say:) It all started in 2007 when I went on complete bedrest at 26 weeks with our 1st son. He did everything in the entire house including cleaning the toilets:) Then, in 2009 we decided to give our son a brother. We found out he had a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries and would require open-heart surgery. So we had to move out of state for 4 months so we would be near the surgeon when we delivered. My unselfish husband didn’t think twice. He said, “I’m going with you and will be by your side through this”. He had to leave his job for 4 months and was my ROCK through it all. In 2011, we had a little girl to add to our bunch and after the delivery I had a prolapsed uterus and went back on bedrest for 6 weeks. Well, that being said you know what that means. He did it all. He cooked, cleaned, took the kids to church, school etc… My husband never asks for anything in return. He never asks for a night out with “the guys” or a break even though you can tell he needs it. What an honor it would be for him to receive a little token of appreciation for the man he is. My superHero is so humble he wouldn’t believe it if he actually won:)!! I met Edward when my husband and I went to visit my long-time friend Bethany during her last pregnancy. I am a witness of how selfless Edward is. When my husband got deployed to the Middle East during Cristmas time, Edward didn’t even hesitate to invite me over so I wouldn’t be alone, but he also cooked a whole delicious meal for us!. I was embraced as part of the family and all they kept doing was giving and giving and giving. He took care of everything and on top of that, he never once stopped showing love and affection to his family. Who else do you know that does all this man has done and keeps a smile. I don’t know anyone who does it, so if anyone deserves recognition is Edward.
I hope you win because you make your family a happy one and I can see the love you have for your Wife and Kids, that’s a good Husband and Father:)

This is one amazing husband/father!! I took care of their son in the hospital, and haves followed their story ever since! I love love love seeing this family grow!I will ALWAYS remember how much this father cared for both his wife and his son at this critical time in their lives. Thank you CSP for providing an outlet for us to cheer on someone like Edward who has so clearly exemplified Christ’s love, humility, strength, patience, persistence and courage through these past few very challenging, but wonderful years. So proud to know Edward and his equally amazing wife and family.
In this day, when so many men think being a father means impregnating a woman and going your own way, this a very refreshing and uplifting story. Edward truly is an exceptional father. He loves his family and always puts them before himself. He sacrifices so much for them but never complains. Being a Daddy is something he excels at and really enjoys. I hope he wins this award because he certainly deserves it.

My husband and I met Ed and Bethany when they had there second child and they moved out of state to be closes to his heart doctors. I have to say Ed is one of the nicest people we have ever met he loves his family so much. To see a husband that does the things for his family that he does is truly wonderful. Bethany your a wonderful wife for recognizing all the special things your husband has done and is still doing. I hope all the kids are doing good and hope to hear from you soon.

Wonderful man and wonderful story! I remember when Ed and his dad spent weeks remodeling your first home and the day you moved in, the doctor put you on bed rest with your first baby. Ed had to do all the unpacking of the boxes by himself! He did this with a smile on his face and never complained. He continues to put his family’s needs above his own. Ed, thank you for the love and devotion you have shown your family and for always being there for them. We love you!!
