Meet Charlotte’s next local rising star! Ivory Layne has a release party on May 10th at the Palace Theatre in Cornelius. She is ready to release her debut EP, “Volume One” to the public.
Ivory’s real name is Hannah Rhyne. I have had the supreme privilege of knowing her since before my children were born, so I will honestly be able to say I knew her before stardom. Hannah is one of the most talented young women I have ever met and obviously Nashville agrees. Through a “six-degrees of separation” type relationship she was discovered over a year ago by a Tennessee music producer named Ed Cash. Ed, by the way, was named “Music Producer of the Year” for 4 consecutive years and works with the likes of Chris Tomlin, Nicole C Mullen and Steven Curtis Chapman to name a few.
While Ed works with many Christian artists he allowed Hannah to choose her own path. She has opted to go the secular/pop route, which will allow her the ability to reach more people and step out of the box a bit. She calls her music “quirky or different” but whatever you call it, she already has a huge following.
She currently is a Senior at Southlake Christian and this summer is moving to Nashville for her new career. Interested in attending? Check out her Facebook for tickets:
