Some moms do Disney. I do music. Many of you might remember my BEST. MOM. MOMENT. EVER. the last time Taylor Swift was in town. For those of you who missed it, go ahead and feast your eyes. It’s the moment that will forever mold me as “the coolest mom ever” – I know, it happened too early in my parenting gig. It was my first big concert out of the gate. My motto is always go big or go home. But this was out of this world. Where do I go from here? I’m never ever going to try to beat it. I’m just going to use it to my advantage. Like any time my tweenager decides that she’s too cool for her mama, I’m just going to text her this link with “who has the coolest mom on the PLANET? Yup, I thought so, YOU do:-)” Thank you in advance, Mama Swift for arming me with teenager amo!
So it’s officially 48-hours to T-time, Taylor Swift that is. This is THE Mom event of the year for sure. Taylor is hands down the biggest name in our household. Her music has been #1 in our house for four years and counting. What I love about Taylor is that she is undeniably the only artist out there who we as Smarty Mamas can feel good about her music, her as a role model, pretty much her everything. My favorite part is that I jam to Taylor’s tunes just as much as my girls do. We have a special connection through her music.
When I met Taylor’s mom two years ago, Mama Swift, I think I was more starstruck than being front row with Taylor. Yes, Taylor is pretty much the biggest celeb on the planet, but to me, her mom is my idol. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be ya know, just a regular mom to a rockstar. Taylor obviously has a gift and her parents channeled that gift in all the right ways. Hats off to you, Mama Swift:-)
So, let’s get to the fun stuff! Who’s going to the concert on Friday??? I propose that we all pre-party beforehand at Brixx uptown. We did the same thing for the Justin Bieber concert and had a blast! It was the who’s who of Charlotte moms and was the perfect venue to hang before heading over to TWC Arena. The new and improved Smarty Party will be at Brixx at 5:00p. Hope to see you there!
Share your Taylor Swift concert story – is this your first concert? How old are your kids? What are you most excited about? I personally CANNOT WAIT. If on twitter, make sure you tweet us @charlottesmarty and include hashtag #CSPMamaSwift and we can tweet from the concert.
See ya Friday, Smarty Charlotte! I don’t know about you, I’m feeling 22…

Bummed not to be attending this time…what an awesome concert, so excited for all my friends going again and the newbies. I took my 8 year old daughter, Jackson, last time. It was our first major concert together and although Jackson was only 6 at the time I felt it would be a wonderful first concert and I was correct! Jackson had her haircut yesterday. When they asked what she wanted she said, “Taylor Swift bangs please!” LOL….she has not had bangs since she was 3!
On another note I am dying to get Taylor’s autograph on a guitar we had donated to our school auction. I have been tweeting and working the Time Warner contacts. I am not very hopeful, but you just never know. The things we do for our kids!
Have fun at the show everyone!
I’m pulling for you! It certainly won’t happen if you don’t try your hardest. Don’t give up!!!!!
Opps forgot to include my email address last time…just in case Mama Swift is reading this and wants to grant my miracle autograph! 🙂 jthompson@colvillecapital.com
Thanks Jen and I cannot wait to read your post show blog! XOXO
Our girls had their lives forever changed by Taylor Swift that November 2011 night, and we are lifelong fans in our house. They both needed their experience with her that night more than we could have ever known. Wish so badly we were attending this time.

Hey Ashley!
How are you? We were late entrants to get our tix but luckily pulled through. The TS concert is seriously one of my favorite things I’ve done with my girls and am excited to do it again, even if it’s not nearly as cool as last time:-) I think I have done a good job managing their expectations. They are working hard on their T-party posters – if they get picked, it’s all on their own accord:-)
Jen-
Talk about Serendipity last minute TS tickets on the floor via my amazing DH friend and I think I may be more excited than my 7 year old who is going to be so surprised. I can’t wait. Justin Bieber was great but there is something special about T Swizzle!
YAHOOOOOO for you!!! Love it!
