We welcome any and all runners or walkers who are passionate about raising money to find a cure for pediatric cancer. The Charlotte Roller Girls kick off their 2013 home season in uptown against Cape Fear of Wilmington. Doors at the Grady Cole Center open at 5:30 p.m. There’s plenty of stadium seating and a few seats off the track for adults who want to be extra close to the action. CLTRG will be showing off the new WFTDA rule set — with the new one-whistle start making the game fiercer and faster. Flat track roller derby is an all-female, hard-hitting, full contact race fun for the whole family! Trinity Episcopal School proudly presents “Into the Woods, Jr.”. Performances are held at Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Florence B. Gunn Theater. Into the Woods, the 1988 Tony Award winner for both score and book of a musical, is a brilliantly conceived exploration of “happily ever after”. The show has an enchanting, moving and profound score by Stephen Sondheim, and a powerful, witty book by James Lapine. Into the Woods is a magical, imaginative adventure told through Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm’s classic fairy tales. As the intricate plot unfolds, the childless Baker and his Wife, cursed by the wicked Witch, go off into the woods in hopes of ridding themselves of the witch’s evil influence. There they encounter Cinderella, her Prince, Little Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, Jack, Rapunzel and other fairy tale characters who are attempting to realize wishes of their own.

Children’s Day on the Farm

This annual event features hands-on children’s activities relating to colonial and antebellum farm life. Some of the day’s activities include children’s crafts, kid’s military drills, toys and games, candle making and blacksmithing demonstrations. All kinds of farm animals will be on display including the site’s newborn lambs. A 4-H petting zoo, pony rides, tractor drawn wagon rides, and family friendly foods will also be available. Cost is $3-$6.
