Dr. J took an interesting path before deciding to pursue his compassion for children and dentistry. In his early career, he followed his father and brother into engineering. After 9/11, he decided to follow his true passion, stating that “Life is short, but can be long if you are not doing what you love.” He received his dental degree from Chapel Hill and realized he really loved working with kids. From there he went to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for his residency and brought his family back to Charlotte to open up Southpark Pediatric Dentistry.
Your family will absolutely love going to the dentist here. It’s tricked out with movies for the kids, because it’s all about kids in this practice. They don’t frown upon Mom going back with her nervous child for the first trip to the dentist. In fact, they encourage it in their open and inviting atmosphere. They perform digital x-rays resulting in less radiation exposure. Emergencies are seen on the same day, guaranteed. And they care about moms & dads in the waiting room with free wi-fi. Dr. J is a dad himself, so he treats his patients the same way he’d treat his own children. In his spare time, he’s a soccer coach and loves to work in his yard. In his next life, he’ll be a fighter pilot.
Dr. J accepts all forms of insurance – this made our fam happy as we’ve had to switch dentists several times over the years due to insurance. We’re now with Dr. J – he’s a family man, he’s involved in his community and most importantly, he’s extremely talented. This makes for a great dentist in my book – we look forward to many years together with this crazy fam of four little ones!
