Carolinas HealthCare System will be part of a wonderful family event during the Democratic National Convention and we invite Smarty families to join us! Spend a day celebrating the Carolinas, the South and Labor Day!
CarolinaFest is tomorrow (Monday), September 3rd from 10:00am-6:15 pm. CarolinaFest is a free family-friendly Labor Day Celebration that will occur in Uptown Charlotte and will feature interactive expositions, family oriented-activities, live music, speakers, and history in the making. The event will be held on Tryon Street in the heart of convention facilities and serve as the kick-off to the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
CarolinaFest will feature two stages with live performances and speakers. James Taylor is the third performer to be announced for the Main Stage that will be located at the corner of Trade and Tryon Streets. Janelle Monáe and Jeff Bridges and the Abiders were also recently announced as CarolinaFest Main Stage performers.
The four legacies featured in the Legacy Village are:

CarolinaFest will take place on Tryon Street between 5th Street and Stonewall. The Legacy programs will be concentrated in the Gantt Museum parking lot (501 South Tryon), Tryon St. in front of the Gantt lot and Ratcliffe on the Green.
Other museums uptown include Bechtler Museum of Modern Art (offering free admission), Mint Museum Uptown (offering free admission), Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture (offering free admission), Discovery Place (offering half price admission), NASCAR Hall of Fame (offering half price admission) and Levine Museum of the New South (offering discounted admission of $5).
