On Saturday, Team Bowman ventured to Bryson City, NC to ride the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad for their annual PEANUTS™ Pumpkin Patch Express. What a memorable way to spend a day with your family in the mountains!
Here’s how it works. You hop on board a real live train in Bryson City, NC and a 30-minute ride takes you over rivers, through beautiful fall foliage and then to your own private mini-Halloween festival. You get off the train and spend 2 hours having good old fashioned fun. My favorite was “Halloween Trick or Treat Street” where you enter a miniature neighborhood and get to knock on doors to trick or treat. There are tons of photo opportunities and you also get to bring back pumpkins so we brought back 2 pumpkins. Our children had the best time!
I highly recommend this experience. Bryson City is the cutest town (population 1,400) and we will absolutely be going back. I love very small towns where the restaurants are locally owned and there’s not a chain in sight! We tried Anthony’s Italian Restaurant, Cork & Bean and Everett Street Diner. In each restaurant, the owner was working! The quaint downtown also had cute shops to peruse. The people at Great Smoky Mountains Railroad and in Bryson City overall are so hospitable. We just loved it!
The PEANUTS™ Pumpkin Patch Express is available for the next 2 weekends.
