I recently spent a week as a single parent with my 3 preschool aged children. Let me begin by saying that anyone who does this on a regular basis is my hero!!! I decided we should all head out for an adventure that Saturday. We left the 95 degree June heat and drove 2 hours north to Tweetsie Railroad.
If you have never been to Tweetsie, you should make the trip. They call it a “Wild West Theme Park Adventure”. We visited during the Diego and Dora meet and greet. We chatted and took photos with the characters, but that was just the beginning of our day. We surprising rode most of the rides, saw a couple of shows, got the kid’s faces’ painted, had snacks, and were passengers on the very cool steam locomotion train. My kids were excited to meet these two cousins but Tweetsie has special events all summer and through the fall. July offers include a Fireworks Extravaganza and Meet Bob the Builder. The event not to miss is the Day out with Thomas. It took place at the beginning of June but my family will be there next year for sure.
It was a very fun day and we all had a great time. Not to mention the added bonus of 78 degrees. As we pulled back into our driveway, I had 3 sleeping kiddos and 1 tired Mama. We can’t wait for the next visit.
If you want to book a quick fun visit, bring your hard hat and tool belt on July 13-15 to join the Can-Do Crew when Bob the Builder™ comes for a singing, dancing and building extravaganza. Bob the Builder and the Can-Do Crew look for aspiring builders during interactive Sing-Along Performances all weekend long. Promoting tools like teamwork, a positive attitude and problem-solving skills, Bob the Builder reminds kids that they can tackle any job!
