As you know, last fall, we partnered with Bob Mayberry Hyundai with our Smarty Car sponsorship (read my full review on the Smarty Party/Veracruz here). I can honestly say that I was floored at how nice the Hyundai fleet was, particularly the Genesis.
My hubby was in desperate need of a new ride as he was sporting around in a vintage Honda Accord. Hyundai was not even remotely one of the brands we were considering, until I visited the dealership and test drove the Genesis and the Equus (more on that at a later date!). I knew we had to have the Genesis. Here’s why.
I’m a girl who loves nice cars, I like all the bells and whistles in my cars, my hubby doesn’t care for the price tag that comes along with them. When I brought the Genesis home for a test run, we both recognized immediately that this was the car we had seen all summer – the one with the mysterious wings and no brand name, just Genesis. On our long drives to Florida and back, we would often mistake this vehicle for a Mercedes and then we were totally intrigued by the lack of branding.
My thoughts are that the Genesis as well as the higher end model, the Equus, represent Hyundai’s luxury line. They just didn’t have the brand power to separate the two. I think that’s how they keep the price so low.
The Hyundai Genesis has everything you can want in a luxury vehicle and then some. It’s a smooth ride and it has some serious power – I’m used to driving an SUV piled high with kids, so I have to be careful when driving this beauty. The interior is so quiet, it has almost zero road noise, feels like you’re in a soundproof cave even on the highway! It has heated AND cooled driver seats (this is my favorite selling point!), heated back seats, an excellent sound/navigation system, Blue Tooth, you name it, this car has it. We can even fit three kids across the back with Britax Booster seats. Trunk space is HUGE: golf clubs, 8 bags of groceries, and three soccer chairs, no problem! Random note, I think my hubby looks WAY hotter in this rig than his old Honda, there is something mysterious and sexy about that Hyundai Genesis! But the best part, the price tag. This ride starts at $34,200. The Hyundai Genesis rivals it’s BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, and Lexus counterparts. And at a fraction of the price. In my book, this car is a Smarty Steal!
So in one month, we were a converted family to 100% Hyundai – and we’re proud of it. This car is nicer than any vehicle I’ve ever owned. I told my hubby “Honey, all I ever need is a Hyundai.” His response – “Can I get that in writing?!”
