Exciting news just in from our Smarty friends at Carolinas HealthCare Foundation:
Physicians, nurses, hospital staff and guests with Carolinas HealthCare System’s Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) will be featured in the second episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette, airing TONIGHT, May 21 at a special time at 9 PM. The episode will cover a unique group date with the newest Bachelorette, Emily Maynard, the first single mom to ever star on the series. Maynard first captured America’s heart on the 15th season of “The Bachelor.”
Guests of the hospital enjoyed a “live” taping of the show on Saturday, March 17, in Charlotte, including a special appearance by The Muppets. The event raised $20,000 for the Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care at LCH, a cause close to Emily’s heart. Viewers are encouraged to make a donation by visiting this link. One hundred percent of donations will go to support programs and services provided to families served in the Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care.
The new season of The Bachelorette airs Mondays on ABC. Click here for more information on The Bachelorette. Click here for more about Levine Children’s Hospital.

The Bachelorette
On ABC’s hit primetime romance reality series The Bachelorette, one lucky woman gets the opportunity to find the man of her dreams — and hopefully her groom-to-be. This single, very eligible bachelorette — a confident, successful and sensitive woman who is ready to find love — will embark on a romantic journey as she meets 25 handsome and intelligent men. As the Bachelorette gets to know each one, she’ll continue to narrow the field. They will travel to exotic locations and spend time getting to know each other; she will introduce them to her family and friends and meet some of theirs. At the end of her romantic voyage, if she has found Mr. Right, will there be a proposal, from whom – and will she say yes? Hosted by Chris Harrison, The Bachelorette is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television.

Can’t wait to see it…you may see me in the audience 😉
Yeah ANNE!!! I saw you! So cute!!! Let’s hear it for Smarty Wendy for making her National TV debut!
How did they raise money?
Melanie, a few months back, they hosted a fundraiser while filming that segment of the show (the Muppets kids show), all benefiting Levine. So all of those folks in the audience helped contribute to the cause. They raised over $20k!
We paid $50 a ticket x 400 audience members = $20,000!
Chris Harrison made the rounds outside of the theater before taping started. Super nice guy! It was fun to see how Miss Piggy and Kermit are operated. I never would have guessed how it was done. 🙂
