Can you smell it, that cool morning air? Maybe enjoying a brisk walk with leaves crunching under your feet or slipping on your jeggings, grabbing a light jacket and loading the kids in the car to go pick apples, then rushing home to catch the Panther’s game. Even if you can’t smell it, just think about it and it makes you happy. (Anything makes me happy after this latest heat wave.) Say it with me- “Fall IS just around the corner”!
Forget the deals at the department stores, the big box stores, or just buying the same “back to school” clothes. The place you need to be is at the local consignment sale shopping deals (without clipping coupons) for diaper bags, sweaters, jackets, shoes, school uniforms, even the perfect “Holiday outfit” for your little one(s).
Voted the Charlotte Magazine’s #1 consignment sale (yup, that’s a BOB Award!): The Charlotte Mothers of Multiples Fall-Winter Consignment sale is back and ready for you! The Charlotte Mothers of Multiples (CMOMS) will be hosting their Fall-Winter Consignment Sale on Saturday, August 13th. Their bi-annual sale is held each year at the Charlotte Metrolina Expo Trade Center (Bldg. B) 7100 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. Don’t worry everything is “individually” tagged and priced so even though there may be duplicate, triplicate or maybe even quadruplicate of stuff, you will be get the best deals no matter who or how many you are shopping for.
This sale offers it all: strollers, big wheels, furniture, high chairs, baby gates, Halloween costumes right on down to the onesies, jeans, dresses, toys, bottles, sippy cups, books and more. So go ahead; stock up the kids’ closets, along with the “gift” closet with the perfect “holiday toys”, gaming systems, bikes, doll houses, clothes, toys, bedding, books, and a sleigh of other stuff.
The Early Bird sale begins Saturday, 8/13 at 7:30 a.m. and costs $2 to enter. Entry is FREE @ 8:30. They will also mark items down for a half price sale from 12:30-2:30pm.
Here are some Smarty tips to keep in mind when shopping:
1. Bring your own bin, laundry basket or bag to carry purchases. NO ROLLING CARTS or STROLLERS are allowed.
2. There is a High End Boutique section to even score the Best Dig’s! From tulle & smocked dresses, to john johns and more. You’ll have to pay for these items separately at the High End register, but you can score some excellent deals on some higher end children’s wear.
3. The sale NOW ACCEPTS CREDIT CARDS! It use to be a cash only sale but this is the first sale CMOM’s will be offering Credit Cards. NO CHECKS will be accepted. There is an ATM nearby should you need more dough for all your purchases, but that will come with a hefty surcharge.
4. Check out the VENDOR section on your way in or way out of the sale building. This is always full of vendors with more cute kids stuff, room décor, teacher & baby gifts, delicious treats, Tupperware, and more!
If you need any more information about the sale you can visit www.charlottemultiples.com. There you’ll find directions to the sale, as well as more info about sale sponsors, and a sale timeline. Here’s to some much cooler shopping! See you at the sale!

It’s a semi-annual sale (2x/year,) not bi-annual (every-other year.)
