This is our latest update to a fantastic kid-friendly restaurant list, that especially caters to the tweens who are so over mac n cheese and chicken fingers! We were highly impressed with their diverse kids menu. You’ll find dishes for the kids that you may want to order yourself. How about a Colorado Chicken Salad? Feeling a little hungrier – ok, try the wood-grilled salmon or a half back of ribs? See what I mean, this is the place to take your family so everyone can enjoy!
My husband was pretty excited about the Firebirds dinner menu on a recent Plyms night out. And let me tell ya, Smarties, that is extremely difficult to do. Hubby considers food just an essential – he’d be happy eating a can of peas, not kidding! So when he got pumped up about this restaurant, I knew there was something to it!
All of our meals were incredible. We started with the lobster/spinach queso, one of their specialty appetizers and our entire family gobbled that up in no time. I enjoyed the Pecan Crusted Trout while hubby had the Firebird’s Chicken Pasta. Our kids meals included mac n cheese, a burger and the chicken salad. The kids meals were extremely generous portions – I could have gotten away with two meals for the four children if they could all agree to eat the same thing! We felt like we had a date night out since the menu was so comprehensive and it was such a hip atmosphere – but we didn’t have to pay for a sitter!
We will definitely be heading back to Firebird’s on our next family dinner night out, whatever the occasion. Our friends at Firebirds want you to try them out too. Help! Would love to enjoy a night off and dinner out at Firebirds! Two hungry boys (ages 8 and 11) have kept me in the kitchen non-stop this summer…cooking, cleaning, slicing, dicing, roasting, grilling, and baking…the SUV is on autopilot to HT and TJ’s. 🙂

We absolutely love Firebirds for date night! With all of the camps and driving back and forth this summer, we NEED a night to ourselves!!
Because my husband is out of town for 2 nights…my 1 & 2 year olds share a room and BOTH are having sleep issues. I had to channel the Super Nanny last night until about 12:30 AM. I’m just plain too tired to cook!

By the time we get back from work and pick up the kids, it is almost their bedtime. Trying to pull together dinner in less than 20 minutes every night is exhausting. I would love a night out.

Hello! We would love a night out at Firebirds!!! This was my dad’s favorite restaurant and we went almost every Sunday after church. Sadly, my dad passed away 2 1/2 years ago. We did go to Firebirds for lunch on the 1 year anniversary of his passing but we have not been since. It would be great if we could take my mom and her grandkids out to Firebirds!
Firebirds is wonderful. A single Father of 3 girls (twins and a singleton) needs a lucky break once in a while. You are correct the tween twins are so beyond the kids menu. A family night out is more like a payment into the college savings plan than a dinner. Thanks for the chance to win.

FIREBIRDS ROCK!!! I have fallen DEEPLY in love with this restaurant ever since the very first time I was treated by a friend! I could definitely use a NIGHT OFF anyday, to enjoy such a special place that I have talked about to all my family and friends. My weekdays are very busy for I am a Pre-K3 Christian school teacher who stay busy with my 18 students, whom keep me laughing all the time. Having an evening to relax from the day will be an AWESOME TREAT, INDEED!!!!
They have our fav dessert in town – creme brulee cheesecake. YUM! $50 worth of cheesecake would be heaven!!

My husband has been working from 3am-5pm, going to bed at 6:30pm all summer (the perils of distributing boating equipment). He’s exhausted and this schedule has made me exhausted too – taking care of our 5 and 7 year olds solo; running them to various camps and still making it to work with shoes on that match! We would love a nice family meal out so Dad could dine with his three ladies!

I would love a night off and really a night out with my husband. We are due with another baby in 9 weeks and would just love a night out with him before she comes. He also lost his job 7 weeks ago too so a night off together would be very nice.
Let’s see I have a 5month old. So my husband and I NEVER sleep. Our child spent 2 weeks in the NICU after he was born unexpectedly. To say we were stressed is an understatment. 5 minutes after we got home from the nicu with our son (no joke) we recieved news that my dad was in a horrible car accident up in Indiana. We did not know at the time if he had made it. Thankfully he did. When my parents were well enough to come down to NC to see their 1st grandson my mom fell at CVS and we spent the 1st night they were here in the ER with her getting stiches. They are coming back to town they love Firebirds and my husband has never been I would like to treat them and myself after all that we have had happen to us as a family! We are hoping this bad luck is gone for now! Fingers crossed! 🙂

On top of being kid-friendly, Firebirds also offers a good range of gluten-free choices — something that is being important to us as we understand and adapt to our child’s food allergies. Eating out with restrictions can be tough, so we love restaurants that take the guesswork out of the menu!
We love Firebirds! All of our birthdays falll in July- husband (July 1st), me (July 13th), one daughter (5 on July 14th), second daughter (2 on July 24th). In the midst of all the birthday celebrations- we totally forgot our 8 year anniversay on July 17th!
…because I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to look at the clock at 5:00pm and say “yahoo! get in the car kiddies, we’re going to firebirds for dinner” rather then my daily thoughts of “Ahhh, how was my mother so much better at this than I am!?” and scramble in the frig for something to eat.
