The only time of year that I live for checking the mail is the holidays. I have a love affair with all things paper – stationary, cards, gift tags and invitations. Ripping open the Christmas cards and seeing the embellishments, quotes and beautiful photography brightens my day.
Here is my struggle…I hate clutter and am the opposite of a hoarder but I cringe about throwing them out every year. This year, I got Smarty. It’s about time, right? I made gift tags out of our Christmas cards. It was super easy. I dug up some scrapbooking scissors that I got at Michael’s a few years ago. These scissors are inexpensive and cut really cool edges. My daughter is always begging me to do a craft so this was a perfect way to recycle those cards and get crafty. Her favorite part was using the hole punch and threading the ribbon. (we had all of the ribbon leftover from gifts)
Try it out, Smarties! Now, I’m on to taking down Christmas decorations. My second least favorite task behind packing boxes for a move…

We do the same thing with birthday cards, etc. during the year.
Great ideas!
I do the same thing and use them for next years gifts.
I hated throwing away the pictures we got w/ our Christmas cards so this yr I made a collage of all the photos from people far away and hung them low on the wall so my kids will get to "know" our friends, even though they live far away.
