Smarty Call out for Baubles & Bags

Hi Smarties! As mother of Jen B, our dear founding Smarty Mommy, Jen P has been kind enough to let me talk about a cause dear to my heart I have written before about Assistance League of Charlotte. This wonderful organization addresses the needs of children in need in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The website, http://charlotte.assistanceleague.org/ps.home.cfm?ID=37 explains in some detail the various programs our chapter administers.

Assistance League of Charlotte funds these programs through its donations, grants, and its Thrift Shop. The Thrift Shop, which occupies a large part of the Center at 3600 South Tryon St., sells gently used clothes, furniture, electronics, computers, household goods, children’s toys and clothes, and books. Once a year, the Thrift Shop conducts Baubles & Bags, a spectacular jewelry and handbag sale. One huge room is filled with jewelry, and handbags fill another room. The reason I am writing right now is that all of the jewelry and handbags are donated, and that is where YOU come in. There is not a woman in the world who doesn’t have jewelry or handbags that she isn’t wearing or using anymore. Why not get them out now and donate them? We will accept all kinds of jewelry, including costume, vintage, seasonal, sterling silver, and gold. I will be happy to pick them up. or you can drop them off at the Assistance League Thrift Store at 3600 South Tryon Street (just south of Clanton Rd) during our regular store hours—Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 10 to 4. You may want to stay and shop. And don’t forget us when you are ready to get rid of that table, laptop, set of golf clubs, jacket, or book. We take them all.

The sale is Saturday, October 23 from 9 to 3. You won’t want to miss it!
