By the CSP Team:
Smarties, we’re thrilled to introduce you to our new bloggers, Susan & Lisa! These two hysterical Smarties joined our team to bring back our true working mama voice (we still miss Jenny & Tracy who are currently taking a sabbatical:-). As an effort to keep these busy mamas around for as long as possible (which let me tell ya, isn’t so easy now that the banks have blocked out all social media sites during the day – really?), we decided to let our working moms “blog-share”, ya know, kinda like job-share but in the blogosphere? Smarties, meet Susan & Lisa in their own words.

Susan: From a focus group of one (that would be moi), funny trumps everything. If you can make me laugh then we are tight for life. But look out – I’ll keep coming back for more. Humor is the currency of my life. Because if I don’t laugh (at myself, at the situation, at my husband, at my kids, at all of the Mickey-Mouse-nonsense going on at work) then I might just cry. We have enough rivers, lakes and ponds out there without my help. It’s easy to get pulled down in the mud and all it takes is someone who is quick-witted to pull me right back up again. We’re not saving lives here, people (although some of you are), so let’s get on with it. What else should you know about me? I could go a month on one single compliment. I suffer from the jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none syndrome and envy those of you that have natural talent and are really really good at something. I’m practical to a fault and clutter makes me crazy. I’m a late bloomer meaning I’m the last to do everything. For example, the iTrain has all but passed me by…I have an iPod that collects dust in a drawer somewhere, they’ll stop making the iPhone before I get my hands on one and the iPad? I’ll be a grandma by then…

Lisa: My husband calls me “the big mouth bass,” but I prefer outspoken. I don’t sugar coat things and will always tell it like it is. Being the oldest of three girls in a matriarchal family has definitely had an impact on my view of the world. Because I am goal-oriented, I think I can have it all. I work full time, have a family, friends, am writing for a fabulous blog, and I try to do it all with my sense of humor intact. Without it, I am certain I would become unglued. (And I must admit, I have experienced “unglued.”) As I type this mini-bio, I am flying to RI for a meeting, and as I struggle to find the words to describe myself, I can only see chipped pink fingernails gliding across the keyboard. So maybe I try to have it all, but I desperately need my eyebrows waxed and a manicure. I’ll add it to my to-do-list. But I now get to cross “send Charlotte Smarty Pants a mini-bio” off my list. I can’t wait to share my journey through this crazy thing called motherhood with the CSP family.
Let’s give Susan & Lisa a big Smarty welcome!

YAY!!! I am so excited to see more working mom blogs! I have REALLY missed writing for CSP, but have LOVED reading both your blogs … and especially your profiles. I can SO totally relate and I'm sure many other working moms out there will too!Keep up the great work, and hopefully I can find my way back in to the rotation when my crazy life settles back down a bit!
Oh, sooooo glad to have Susan on board. Susan – remember me? Friend of Addie's? I can attest to Susan's sense of humor and organization as I attended a dinner party at her house that blew me away!!! Can't wait to read your blog and laugh along with you!Jen Parrish
Sweet stylus, Lisa… good thing you got rid of that dinosaur today, working moms need both hands! 🙂
