Smarties, get your green on for Halloween and join Charlotte’s Green Halloween Costume Swap, a nationwide movement to encourage us to think outside of the candy box on Halloween. Local eco-chic boutique owner, Jennifer Branham of Natural Luxe is bringing this hip event to the QC so we can stop filling up landfills with the princess and spiderman costumes and reduce, reuse and recycle!
Hosted by Natural Luxe and Atherton Mill and Market, this is a great opportunity to reduce your carbon footprint and support your local farmers and vendors. Green Halloween will have goody bags filled with great discounts and offers from the sponsors for the 1st 100 swappers to arrive. Just for the kids – there will be a Green Halloween design contest sponsored by Chico Bags. Kids can design a trick or treat bag and be entered into the 2010 Halloween Bag Contest.
Green Fact from Use Less Stuff – If half the costumes kids wear each year were swapped, we could reduce the annual waste by 6,250 tons, equivalent to 2,500 mid-size cars!
Smarties, you can drop off costumes from now until October 6th at the following Charlotte locations:
Keller Williams Realty SouthPark – 2115 Rexford Road, 704-602-0400

No worries, Green Halloween will gladly take donations of costumes too and help you clear some space in your home!
